ive gotten accepted to UCSD (revelle) and UCLA. At UCSD, i applied under human bio and got accepted and i love the upper division classes and that major. at UCLA im undeclared life sciences and will probably end up majoring in developmental and cell bio (which im not as thrilled about). ive been accepted into the honors program for both but i wont be able the manage the gpa almost definitely. UCLA has a stronger general program overall, but UCSD has the specific program. if i want to go to med school, is it better to go to UCSD and be able to manage a better gpa, or go to UCLA and struggle more? are the curves extremely difficult in the science programs at either of the schools?b/c ive heard theyre awful at UCLA. how are the research opporunities at UCSD?

Just go to UCSD...it sounds like you would rather anyway...eff prestige....if you do good in undergrad, it doesnt matter TOO much where you go(UCSD rules anyway), you'll get into a good med school and thats what is really important. good luck. =]

(i'm sorry I cant answer anything about grading curves or research opportunities....both are good schools, both schools will be hard. you'll actually have to work hard to maintain a good GPA, no matter which you go to I'm sure)

i want to know if going to UCSD will actually make it harder since there are so many bio majors.. at UCLA not so many in that specific field, but probably harder overall.

IF you are going to go to ucsd as a premed, competition is just as cutthroat as ucla. As for prestige, UCSD has the no.2 bioengineering program in the nation and that relaly boosts its prestige in all bio programs.
