UCSD vs UCLA vs UCD

UCLA biochemistry
UCSD biochemistry/ cell biology (impacted major)
UCD molecular and cell biology (havent been admitted, but I'm hoping I will...)

I'm having trouble choosing between the three...
UCLA has a good reputation, UCSD I've heard has the best biology program, but I'm not so sure exactly how it's better, and UCD seems to be pretty strong in biology as well...

Could anyone elaborate on why everyone is saying UCSD is really strong in biology? Are the classes taught differently? Are there more opportunities for internships or research? Is it the rankings? I'd appreciate any input.

I'm planning on visiting all three colleges in April as well. :-) So putting aside the quality of college life or dorms, which I will be taking into consideration after I visit, please give your honest opinion!

Thanks!

You can’t go wrong with any one of the three. Visit the campuses, talk to students, and go where you will be happiest.

IMHO those are the largest differences. It’d be hard to pair up 3 random schools and get them closer in academic characteristics such as class size, rep of professors, undergrad classes offered, etc. than by choosing 3 UC schools (although UCSD does have the “college” system). Compared to 3 randomly chosen colleges, for example, at the UC’s you have the same requirements for completing a major and for graduation; they even use the same course numbers at all UCs! So Chem 3A is the same at all campuses.

The differences that are left fall mainly to the type of students that enroll, and the campus/community life.
