<p>UCSD has nice weather, nice location, quiet, great for outdoor activities, world class professors. However, it is lacking in the social department, my daughter thinks it’s ok, she has been to a few parties, however she is the fun type that will have fun anywhere, in other words she makes her life fun. UCSD is great for STEM major and is trying to building the rest of the non-STEM majors.
You may want to go the forum of UW and check out what people say about the school. I don’t know anything about it except it does have a good math and computer engineering/computer science.</p>
<p>UCSD is great, but compared to UW, it’s a little “limiting” for me. UW offers more options, in fact. Many people have told me how great UW is. Although it gets really cold in winter, I think I can overcome it, and in summer the weather in Madison is just as hot or hotter than Cali. And I think I will enjoy both the academic environment and other activities there. Well I’ve never been to America before so it would be hard to have fun easily at first, I will try to fit in anyway. In a large public school with great sports and prestige I think everyone can have a wondeful experience.</p>
