I got acceptance letters from UCSD, Washington, and UIUC. I want to major in biochemistry. I need help to decide which school I should go for next year.
Please list pros and cons of each schools.

well UCSD is top notch in the biosciences. it has a great location on the beach in la jolla but on the negative the town is very rich and older. the social life isn’t that great because people study a lot. however, its a big school and theres usually something going on.

You picked three of the best in biochem (but I suppose that wasn’t an accident). They are all very similar in a lot of ways. However, geography, climate and setting are quite different. The midwest has some pretty awful winters but you do get four seasons and the cold keeps the riff raff out. Seattle is a super fun city but it does rain 300 days a year. I know nothing about San Diego, but surely it must be super hot and I know I would miss the fall and spring.

belevitt, San Diego County starting about 10 miles inland does get hot, but UCSD is within 500 yards of the ocean, which has a moderating affect on the weather.

Many people think San Diego weather is ideal. from high 40s to low 80s in summer. Take 15 degrees off the top for January, and 5-8 degrees off the bottom.

The coast in summer is 20 degrees or so cooler than the 100+ inland.

lodged between La Jolla and Torrey Pines, UCSD is eden. For local biochem job opportunities after school, only Boston and NY-Phil Metro markets can rival it.
