@Silver98 Very Math and Engineering Oriented; quiet and low key social
@honcho Thanks!
@tennis7cowboys Yah, I had for the most part given up on UCSD. Put my waitlist in for shits and gigs not expecting anything. I just started looking into transferring into CS there after I saw the email and from what i’ve seen it is extremely hard. I’m pretty positive that I want to go for CS but am not all that confident in my ability to maintain a 4.0 gpa for a chance at my desired major.
Do you think I should just stick with the program I already got into at UMD? They have a very solid CS department there as well. In fact there is a new computer science building (Brendan Iribe Center) in the works which is supposed to be done by my junior year. Its just that UCSD has the whole bragging appeal to it (ik, shitty reason to like it but its true), its very prestigious, and i’ve always wanted to attend a UC (UCLA was my dream school).
Also, do you think the overall experience that comes with D1 sports and a lot of school spirit is better than the potential college experience at UCSD? I’m a norcal native going to high school on the east coast and something in the back of my head just keeps telling me that I want to be back in California. Unfortunately I was just never too familiar with San Diego.
So upset. Been let down by this school too many times. I don’t know why it keeps me on a chain and beats me to an emotional pulp.
Same :(( I’m hoping the same as @sarale where this is only the first wave and that there are more waves to come :-S
Also, to everyone that got admitted so far, did you all receive an email with your change in status?
@Ramenbeanie8 yeah it says good news in the preview!
@spykrify AH! Man, that’s going to drive me nuts for the next few weeks during testing, but thanks for the info!
I feel like UCSD is treating me like a side chick lol. Leading me on for 7 months and giving me false hope. pls end my misery soon already. took two ap tests today and i come home to this wow that hurt.
@sarale Hey man, just wanted to let you know you’re not alone with your pain. It’s awful knowing that you’ve worked so hard only to get to this point.
When I received my decision email, I was extremely nervous. My friend and I both applied and got our decision emails at the same time. I looked at his email…and immediately I could tell he got in and I didn’t. His email was dressed up all colorful and fancy, mine was really bland…and I was right. He was accepted and I wasn’t.
At the very least, the waitlist is better than a flat out rejection, you just got to hold on to hope.
Hey lads, OP here,
I’m not taking the admittance position. Not dealing with this “undeclared” BS, especially with a capped major like Bio/Bioengineering, I’m SIR’d to UC Irvine as of now.
Well there’s a 99% chance I’ll decline, hopefully one of you lads could have my place if you really don’t care for “undeclared”.
It’s been a wild ride guys, but a fun one at that. 8-X
On a side note, UC Davis please accept me!
Honcho, take my spot omg give me SD
I think they may be doing it by last name (like A-L and M-Z)
@jackisawesome are you talking in terms of how they released it today? Because my last name starts with an R and I found out this afternoon
@jackisawesome I wish I could, lol
To those worrying about waves, yes; they come in waves. They used the wave system last year as well.
@ Ramenbeanie8 As far as I know, everyone who got admitted receive an email with the change in status. Sometimes the email might be regarded as a spam email.
@jackisawesome I mean, gosh, I kind of hope it’s alphabetical (lol) my last name starts with a Y.
@Silver98 I’ll keep that in mind, thanks!
oh ok nvmnd its probably and hopefully random. Please don’t make me wait another week just to deny me. If you are going to kill my dream, kill it asap.
has anyone gotten off the waitlist as an economics major?
Oh my gosh, i’m just praying for all of us who haven’t gotten in yet. :(( :-SS
