random question, but did anyone else get a letter from the uc system to take the entry level writing requirement test? its if you didn’t get a 680 on writing, 3 or above on AP english exam, or a 30+ on the writing section of the act. (there’s other ways to fulfill the requirements) darn i thought i was done with the sat writing section only to get a letter in the mail that i’m required to take it. Such an expensive time right now in senior year, this test should be free lol.
I heard about it but I got 780 on writing phew xD and 740 math (tg writing didn’t have anything to do with CR!!!)
I just wish UCSD could tell us projections, or maybe even release a few data points from the last few year’s waitlist pools (average stats, acceptance rates, basic numbers, etc)
Hey fellow waitlisters. Important question - let’s say I SIR to my in-state school (A&M), but opt in waitlist at UCSD, because it’s my top choice. If I eventually get accepted off the waitlist is it possible for me to cancel my SIR to A&M and accept the offer from UCSD?
Yah- you don’t really cancel a SIR. Basically, you just don’t get a refund on the deposit you put down (SIR= statement of intent to register, although, it is not indicative of actual registration- just intention). You won’t get a refund on whatever the deposit fund costs and will just have to pay a similar cost to UCSD and sign the SIR at UCSD @tennis7cowboys
@jackisawesome Thank you! Good luck to you, hopefully we’ll be tritons together someday!
the anxiety waiting for may 1st- june 1st is unREAL. knowing me, I’m going to be obsessively checking my portal every hour to see if it updated lol. We only have 3 calendar days to respond to the decision btw!!
I have a biochem major and cell biology
My sat was 1320 and gpa 4.14 and i was waitlisted
@Indianese Is your SAT score out of 2400 or 1600?
@Dawg619 out of 2400 and i was borderline for ucla… I got a supplemental app. My scores are really low but i took 7ap classes and have extremely unique/great extracurriculars
Also my personal statements were mind blowing too
So pretty much i had the grades, extracurricular and a mindblowing personal statement. I juat didnt have the sat scores
@Indianese I get you my SAT was on the lower end too. I got a 1610, and had the same UC GPA as you.
You guys must have had fantastic essays! I’m here with a 34 ACT, and my essays were average (Bio. w/ spec. in Bioinformatics major waitlisted).
You guys !! Idk if there is a thing as low income points but i go to a school highly in poverty and seems like many ppl at my school get into bug uc’s like i know acouple people with sat scores in the 1300-1400 that got intp ucsb, uci my friend had 1900s she got in ucla, ucsb, ucb, stanford and harvard!! But i think i was waitlisted bc of my extracurricular activities. Also my grades were really good i had a 4.3 freahman and sophmore year and Junior year and first semester senipr year i got 4.5. Im appealing ucsb and really hope i get in!
The waitlist deadline is over. Good luck to all who opted in!
screams internally in hope and exasperation UCSD please love me
Got rejected, appealed the decision, and got put on the waitlist a few days ago. I also received the supplemental questionnaire.
@aschwarz22 thats wonderful!! Is ucsd your top choice? Ucsb is mine i appealed it… Also, getting a supplemental Q means your borderline i got it for ucla
