There are still has 240 off points register waitlist, total 700 enrolled in this waitlist, average is 3 person for one point off, then 50 points is 150 person, you are still have chance if 29%
come out.
My D also registered Irvine too.
Monday will know exact SIR and Target #, hope some one will post info here.

There will no waitlist space for the current SIR 3686 over the target 3375, so wish everyone doing well for another school, it is not the end of your future.

i thought there are 1200 people on the waitlist…at least thats what the admissions counselor told me when i called to find out my points.
I was just thinking about it today, but what if some people on the waitlist decline admission? do those spots just remain empty? or do they continue moving down the list until they fill the spots? does anybody know?

The waitlist has 1200 but the registered to be waitlist is about 700. The problem is now
SIR is 3686 on the Friday over their target 3375, so now 700 waitlist has no chance to be admitted since they have already reached the target.
You should total recall the Governor who he has cut the education budget cause the UC reduce the number of admission and also you should object the president of UC counting the points about the first generation (300 points) and the low income (300 points), it is very unfair to our working hard children who has good grade in school.

so no hope???

Over 300 on the target #, no chance for waitlist get Fall admission, unless the Governor ask them change the target number.

OMG. 7740 out of 7744. The waitlist is cutoff at 7689. So I should be up there on the waitlist.

On last Friday 4/30 I have already get answer from admission office, the SIR is 3686 over 300 the target 3375, even you one point off cutoff in the waitlist still no space for admission.
you may ask them if possible can move waitlist to winter admission? please let us know result.

Ahh, I guess that’s it. At least we can mourn together! I’ll have to make do with Irvine!

I personally take offense to your comment about nixing the low income and first generation points. You have no idea how hard it is to be the first one to attend college in your immediate family, and/or struggle with finances. Please do some research. Sorry, but this kind of got to me.

oh goodness :(. I hope that waitlisters do get in the school they want >.<. It’s pretty ridiculous how the UC have waitlists if theyre not even gonna admit any of the waitlisers -.-:(.

I have sent email to their University Communications regarding the SIR and target #. The Assistant Vice Chancellor & Director of Admissions told me : At this time, we have not made a decision regarding the Waitlist. As I mentioned in our correspondence, we will not make a final decision until the end of this week.
So we still have chance if they are not use SIR with target # to deceide the waitlist.

so there is still some hope!!

2006: 4590 is target.
2007: 4140 is target.
2008: 4290 is target.
2009: 3750 is target.

Why is the admission rate going down?

admission rate is going down because of budget cuts
it’s one of their ways to spread the money that they have out as effectively as possible on top of increasing tuition

DS received the following email today:

**We have met our enrollment goals for 2010-11, therefore we will not be able to take applicants from the waitlist.

We appreciate your patience and thank you for participating in the waitlist process. We wish you the best in your educational career.**

So did nobody get in from the waitlist?

i didnt =
