It is getting harder but I doubt it’s getting close to UCLA/Cal. We’ll have to wait and look at the admissions stats to know for sure.</p>
<p>I read that UCSD was a 33% acceptance rate this year. It was 42% in 2008. This is record breaking fast.</p>

<p>@JeSuis, thats true, i called them to ask, and they said they had a record high number of applicants of 53,000, and they only admitted 34%, compared to 38%last year, and 42% in 2008</p>
<p>I called the school and the point system is done! they’ve changed it to holistic review like cal and ucla. I called because i had at least 8100 points and I got waitlisted. Stats are pretty good: 4.14 gpa, 2170 sat, and TONS of e.c.
Last year 1200 kids were on the waitlist and apparently 0 got admitted compared to a 40% admit rate from waitlists in ucsb and uc davis, hopefully this changes this year.</p>
