UCSD who is still waiting for acceptance?

I heard it was something like 3 batches spread out in 2 week intervals so yeah. I’m just a bit confused because decisions did not come out in a batch this time. It seemed like some people got in in the morning and as the day went by, more and more people got accepted.
Weird huh?

Yeah, I still havent seen a confirmation on whether that happened or the people who are just being accepted simply didnt check before. I’m still waiting but I didn’t TAG. So we’ll see. UCSD is my last choice, but it’d still be nice to hear from someone!

Major : Computer Science
GPA : 3.80
School: Warren.

nothing yet !!!

For those of you who haven’t been admitted yet what does its say for you in the housing application section?

Major: Political Science
GPA: 3.93
TAG: nope

still waiting :(

@minun312
It said "Our records indicate that your admissions status will not allow you to proceed with this Housing Application process for the term indicated … "

K i think what that section said changed for me. But then again im probably just freaking out.

nothing yet for me… same for UCSC. So frustrating!

Anthro Major
3.7 ish gpa (4.0 major gpa)
IGETC:yes
Tag: no
College choice: Muir

Major: Psychology
3.06 GPA
IGETC: finished after summer
TAG: No

I doubt that I’ll get in, but its whatever.

I got the same housing application message. I think it’s safe to say there’s no other way to find out but wait.

Bioengineering over here. Looks like a few engineering students haven’t heard either.

@Random_Monkey: What does yours say?

So I was looking at last years statistics and it looks like I have an 80ish percent chance of getting in if this was last year so I’m not so worried that I haven’t gotten in yet. Although I could still just as easily end up in the other 20% but I’m staying optimistic  Now it’s just a matter of time…

Oh and I applied as Computer Science 3.52 GPA (Mostly A’s and the rest B’s) but I’m most likely switching to Cognitive Science or Chemistry/Biochemistry if I get in.

@Walleats Where can I find last years stats?

[University of California: StatFinder](http://statfinder.ucop.edu/default.aspx)

Play around with the tables a bit to find what you really want to see. It’s probably not best to look by major for UCSD since they don’t admit by major.

^ Ya but the key question is whether or not they factor tag applicants into stats. cause tag applicants are going to pull the average gpa way down.

Edit:walleats are you tag?

You seem to forget that the number of TAG applicants were only significant THIS year because of the new electronic application. It was something along the line of double the applicants from last year so 9000 TAG applicants compared to around 4500 last year and only about 5000 actually got an approval this year for UCSD. If my numbers are correct (i think i’m close) then TAG should not have had a significant effect on the GPA stats from last year.

I have a theory about how they chose who to put in the first batch. Maybe the first batch was automated like the CSU system. They chose a GPA and anyone above it in certain majors got accepted. And those of us who haven’t been accepted yet have a more complicated application that requires an actual person to look at it. We may have the GPA but, for example, maybe we have AP units or credits from somewhere other than a CCC. Maybe we have something that actually requires some evaluation.

Does this sound plausible? We know they don’t do a holistic evaluation, anyway.

mine is still pending. sigh…

Major: Mechanical Engineering
GPA: 3.54
IGETC: Complete
TAG: Yes (not really helpful though, since Mechanical Engineering is impacted)
College: Warren

I have two friends who are computer science majors, both TAGed and got their acceptance this weekend. One was a 4.0gpa and the other was around a 3.4. So zambonibecky, your theory isn’t too far off.

Still, I wouldn’t worry about looking for some pattern of acceptance, just wait and see what happens.

Political Science
3.75, 4.0 in major
TAG and IGETC
Forget what my first choice in college was.

I’m not too concerned about getting in, its just the suspense of not knowing for certain. Even though SD is my safety school, I just want the assurance, you know?
