Ucsd winter quarter 2007

how will they tell us if we get fall? i really hope we do. we should keep each other updated or something, yes? :)

I think by now they should have told you. They told me (I was switched from Revelle Winter to Sixth Fall) weeks ago.

lecorbeau, didnt you get in on appeal? i think they're talkn about just winter admits being switched automatically to fall. i heard that happened a lot.

yay for winter revelle. i think i may take com college classes at mira mesa in san diego til winter starts, just to be productive.

OHHHH yes I'm sorry...I had no idea they did that....

did anyone else get the email saying we are offered fall for UC merced, riverside, and santa barbara? the email also said..

"Due to the very high acceptance rate to UC-San Diego for the Fall 2006 term, we are not able to offer fall admission to any of our admitted winter freshmen."

which kinda sucks...

I got one of those too...yes it does suck.

wow, collegefasho, are you serious? How could they even offer admissions to another UC? That doesnt seem realistic, or even legal.

Maybe they had an agreement with the other UC's on this matter ahead of time or it came up later on as I was getting stuff from UCM and UCR even after may 1st.

That just doesn't seem practical...

Does this make or break going to UCSD for anyone?

yeah kuz i think uc merced and riverside are still accepting applications and stuff. so you get in for fall quarter and you get on-campus housing [pretty insane!] but im not giving up sd. i dunno about anyone else.

it does seem weird tho. ive never heard about this happening before...

I never heard of it before, but it sort of does make sense for mercerd since they need students there

Wow guys, I'm lucky that I got switched to Fall (on appeal) but I really, really wish you guys the best of luck because it's the instability of it all that would really drive me nuts.

this winter crap is dumb, so were not garunteed classes, housing, etc, the least they coulda done is friggin garuntee housing cause were freshman, what constitutes the privilege of housing? freshman status. so all admits whether fall/winter should be offered housing, i know the acceptance rate was huge, lotta ppl going to sd this year, and another thing is i know ppl with lower stats overall than mine are fall admits and it makes no sense to see them reap over the benefits and i have to be like a bum lol

**** man, high acceptance rate = no fall moveups, sigh...... that means no chance for spring on campus housing, anyone wanna start getting together to rent ?

yeah i am going to start looking for apartments in summer cuz i think i will be going to a community college in sd so i can still move out in fall. anyone need a roommate?!

regardless of the letter they sent me, im going to ucsd, im down to room with anyone , as long as the rent is comparable to the price of dorms if thass possible, this is really ****ing me off :'(

I got the letter too. I'm still choosing SD over any college. I'm just worrying about getting on-campus housing. This is gay. SD is so biased towards us winter admits :(

i F** hate ucsd for this, but im going there no matter what. i thought the email was pointless, because no one would give up ucsd for anything.

changbj88: are you sure that we don't get classes? i think we are able to get classes through the orientation in nov.

Did any of you guys get your SD emails? I didn't get mine.. I couldn't find my name in the SD directory of students either.
