there is a rumor going around my school that ucsd accepted people on accident due to a error on their summantion of points in their system and they are now sending out letters and making phone calls telling people that they didn’t actually get in. i searched online and nothing … anybody know if this is true?

they can't do that cuz they'd be held accountable for making kids send in SIRs that are worth nothing. then there will be the whole issue of 'i passed up another college and sent in my SIR for you and now the SIR deadline for other schools have passed.'

then the kids will realize they hafta go to a cc and all hell will break lose.

that's exactly what i thought because they mighta told other schools der not going and this woulda screwed them over.. so hopefully this is just a load of bs ..

i really hope not, but i wouldn't be surprised, seeing that someone i know got rejected from the all UCs but got into UCSD!!!!! i told him he was lucky!

hmm get back to us when they mail you back KwlAznKid!

but then again, i've mailed them a couple of times asking about various other things. they have a tendency to reply with brief sentence fragments. this even goes for specific colleges in ucsd as well, lol.

It's definitely possible. There was an incident with UCB in which they accidentally sent out 400 acceptance letters to the wrong people. They had to later mail them an apologetic letter. =[ well, GL!

okay its been confirmed that this is indeed bs by one of my classmates it was a late april fools joke from another school's newspaper so its okay guys haha all is well..
