<p>Hi, sorry I'm new to writing a thread, I mostly read the threads. But my question is, if I stand a chance at getting to UCSD. </p>
<p>I go to high school in the US and am currently a junior.
GPA: 3.7 (right now) if I get straight As this semester I'll have a 4.2 (WORKING AT IT :(! )
SAT: 2050
SAT II: 690 Chinese w. Listening
660 Biology
(Planning on taking Math II and Literature for higher scores...) taking a prep class
uh.. I play a school sport, I do community service if that helps...</p>

<p>If so, you should take the SAT again…and also take the ACT. If you bring your SAT up a bit (or do better on the ACT), you’ll increase your chances.</p>
<p>I don’t know how heavily UCs put on SAT IIs anymore (are they eliminating them???). If needed, check out your percentiles for your SAT IIs and see how they measure.</p>
<p>Hmm my mom doesn’t really want me to retake because I’ve already retaken it. The first time I got 1880. Lol… Bad. I know. </p>
<p>As for the SAT IIs unfortunately… My graduating year is the last year that is required to take them, but I’m planning on working really hard in lit and math and possibly retaking biology, for Chinese, although Im Chinese Im not fluent nor can I really read/write haha… Embarassing</p>

<p>Your chances are not slim, but you should take the ACT and this is why.</p>
<p>Take the ACT, but don’t list UCSD as a receiving school. If you do well on the ACT, then send the score.</p>

<p>And remember that UC’s only care about your grades sophomore and junior year. You want your UC GPA to be around a 4.0, but a little less is fine.</p>

<p>I really hope to get accepted by UCSD, is there like anything else I can do that will heighten my chances? Because of right now, I think I’m just an average student, nothing really stands out about me</p>
<p>UCSD middle 50% SAT scores: 1700-2030 so you should be fine there. Look up: UC San Diego Comprehensive Review Admission Process: Freshman Selection, Fall 2010 on the UC website, it’s pretty well explained how they plan to evaluate prospective students. I would think you have a very good chance, get those A’s this term!</p>
