UCSF nursing masters?

I'm hoping that I can have a chance at getting into UCSF. I wasn't counting on it before, and I was planning on SFSU's nursing program which I am fairly confident I can get into, but the problem is they aren't accepting applications for their entry level masters program until next fall. So now all my hopes are set on UCSF.

My undergraduate major was aquatic biology at UCSB, and my GPA was 3.1 (I know pretty crappy), but I'm taking the rest of my pre-reqs (anatomy and physiology, microbio, etc) at CC and my grades for those will bring up my GPA a little. GRE was 164 (math), 157 (verbal), but the writing score wasn't so great (4.5). I'm planning to retake it and I think I can do much better on writing since I'll know more what to expect, I took it pretty last minute the first time.

I have a lot of work and volunteer experience outside of the medical field, unfortunately it has been really hard for me to get hospital experience as all my local hospitals are always overstaffed for volunteers. But I recently made a connection and I'm hoping to get a lot of experience this summer before I apply in Sept.

I'm bilingual, my minor was in Spanish, and I'm thinking this will be a plus.

Also, while I don't yet have experience as a hospital volunteer, I have experience on the patient side from a recent diagnosis that gave me a lot of time with different doctors and nurses and solidified my desire to be a nurse. I am planning on writing a compelling essay about this for my statement of purpose.

So what do you think, do I have a chance? I know it is really competitive, but I know I can make it through if I get in.

So, SFSU’s deadline list was confusing, they said they weren’t accepting applications until next fall. I realized that they meant this December for next fall, so I will also be applying there. What do you think my chances are of getting in there with the above stats? (Entry level nursing program - Generic MSN).
Another question: one of their pre-requisites is a survey of chemistry class that encompasses general chem, organic chem, and biochem. I’ve taken all these courses separately in undergrad, and I’m going to email them to make sure they count but I’m sure they will. The problem is, I got a C in organic chem and a C+ in biochem. Will this look bad? Will it be better if I take a survey of chem class at CC and get an A? My dad thinks it looks better with the classes I already took since I took them at a UC, but I’m not so sure.
Even if you don’t know anything about SFSU, what would your opinion be on that?
