How hard is it to get admission to the University of California - San Francisco's medical program? They are ranked pretty high, and even though it is a UC, I'm still wondering how hard it is to get into the medical school there. Thanks.

Can whoever answers this question also pipe in about UCSF admissions for out of staters?

Pretty hard. How is someone supposed to answer this question? They have the acceptance rates online as well the average mcat and average gpa of the students. That should give you a sense of difficult it is to get in.

??? Still don’t get this post.

Pretty ridiculously hard. The average is like a 3.8+ GPA with 35 MCAT

ChemFreak - These stats are from 2007.

A bit harder to get in OOS.

holy hell. i mean it is a UC and all, but apparently their med school is top notch. well that clears things up for me. thanks.

ALL of the UC med schools are insanely hard to get into =(

And UCSF is the hardest of the UCs, followed by arguably UCLA.

I would say UCSD UCLA and UCSF are pretty closely tied…
