Hi,

I am a freshman entering the Fall 08 term. I'm planning on taking one of the upper division biology classes since I have already fulfilled its prerequisite with AP credit. However, I found out that the class already has around 70 people in the waiting list. Is there a chance that I might get into the class? Should I still try to register for it or should I just forget about it for this quarter?

UD, eh?? Which one is it? Since its prereq is either bild 1 or 2, I am assuming its either BICD 100 or BIPN 100. If its BIPN 100, take my advice and don't take it yet (get used to college classes first... Mam phys is pretty challenging). If its BICD 100 (genetics), I would say your chances are pretty slim. When I took it, not very many people got in from the waitlist (my friend was 40 i think, and he didn't again, and it is one of the only classes that I have taken where the lecture hall was filled every day). But are there multiple lecture? Are they all full? But, there is no reason to rush your UD course work, so if it were me I would just take a class that didn't have such a large waitlist.

Just forget about it -- there are plenty of other classes you can be taking. Leave those spots to the frantic seniors trying to graduate.
