UD Honors Program Denial?

Hi everyone, I just noticed that my Portal acceptance notification has changed to not include any mention of the Honors Program. Instead of saying “We will review your qualifications for admissions to the Honors program and you will be notified by late march” it now says nothing and just mentions acceptance to UD.

I am not sure if I should react to this like I didn’t get into the program or not? Anybody else in a similar situation?

The exact same happened to me this evening and I just came on here to see if anyone else experienced this. I took it as a denial, I figured if I got in it would be updated as announcing my acceptance.

My suggestion is to call the Honors Program and ask. My daughter and I stopped in to their office during the accepted student visit and the folks there were very helpful and pleasant.

The number of students accepted to the Honors Program far exceeds the dorm space available. I’d be surprised to see rejections unless the student did not meet the general guidelines described on the Honors Program site.

Has anyone actually found out of an Honors Program acceptance with the “We will review your qualifications for admissions to the Honors program and you will be notified by late march” statement on the original letter. Im just confused as to how the University of Delaware notifies people who did not receive initial acceptance

I was accepted a month ago with no mention of the Honors Program, and then yesterday I had a status update that said I was accepted.

I called UD admissions and had a long conversation with the office. They told me that I am still being considerd and will be notifying people up to April 8th if they are accepted. So even if your letter has changed you can still be accepted.

@thewindblower Also congratulations on your acceptance!!! What are your stats if you don’t mind me asking?

@Weatherman101 I had a 91.5 weighted GPA and my school doesn’t do unweighted or class rank. I got a 2110 on my SAT (670 CR, 670 W, 770 M) and 730 Bio (E) & 790 Math level 2 subject tests. I’m drum major of my school’s marching band, had a summer job with some leadership experience, and volunteered at the local middle school library about 10 hours a week from 7-12th grade. My school allows us to take 2 APs a year junior and senior year and I took none junior year and now I am taking Calc AB and Bio. I also took an Earth Science class at Syracuse. I took honors math and science 9-12th grade, honors history 11th grade, and honors english 12th grade. I made honor roll (90+ average) all of 10th grade, and principal’s list (95+ average) 11th and 12th grade. I got a 220 PSAT which in NJ made me a National Merit Commended Student. I did a lot of instrumental music through high school. Also my essays were awesome.

@Weatherman101 Did they say how they would be notifying you?

@megan715 They said I would be notified if I was accepted through the portal. However, they will not notify you if you are denied from the program.
