UD, NJIT, Lehigh, Lafayette, Stevens

I recently applied and was accepted to the above schools. I applied Biochem to all of them b/c that’s what I’m most interested in, and I plan to pursue medicine as a career. I don’t know if I want to be a doctor or do medical research but those are my two dreams. About meL I’m not into partying or greek life but I want a nice social atmosphere and sense of community. I don’t think ROI or prestige matter. What I’m looking for out of college is a place I can grow as a person and learn. I visited all of these schools and loved all of them.

Here;s what I got:
UD: Honors, 8k/yr merit (out of state)
NJIT: Honors, full ride (in state)
Lehigh: No aid
Lafayette: No aid
Stevens: 4+1 masters program, 23k/yr scholarship

Stevens and NJIT are really close to home so after the first year I could commute. I also have a place to live super close to lehigh and lafayette so I could commute there if I wanted to as well.

Money isn’t really an issue - I can go anywhere without taking out loans. Although, if I go somewhere less than 40k/yr I can afford to not have a summer job and I can go on vacations over breaks. If I go to NJIT I can basically spend money on whatever I want for four years.

I don’t know where to go. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Where have you visited? Are you going to accepted student’s days? Do you really want to live at home?

Lehigh/Lafayette - Lehigh is higher academically but really it comes down to personal preference
UD - medium size state school - price?
Stevens - not sure about college life there
NJIT - very urban campus - very different feel than UD or Lehigh/Laf

Depends what you are looking for in a school and what your family can comfortably afford. See if you can go back to your 2-3 top choices during accepted students day.
–Lafayette - is great if you want a STEM oriented LAC, lots of opportunity for students to do research with professors (for full disclosure my D is a senior at Lafayette and loves it)
–Lehigh - academically equivalent to Laf but a mid-sized university
–UD - medium size state flagship, nice school. I think DuPont supports some of the school’s chem related programs so that may be worth checking into.
–Stevens - pretty much all engineering/STEM, good school academically, about 70% male from what I see online
–NJIT - really don’t know enough to opine.
