Hi, I’m currently a senior in high school and have applied to UD’s nursing program. My application was received and ready for review on October 26 and I was wondering if anyone had any info regarding acceptances to the Nursing Program so far this year. I know it is one of their most competitive programs and I applied with a 104 weighted GPA, 96 unweighted, 1850 SAT (1240 two-part), along with many extracurricular activities including different clubs, varsity sports and honor societies. If anyone has any idea of my chances at acceptance that would be great to know, thank you!
If the rigor of your HS courses (i.e. Honors, AP courses, etc.) is high IMHO you are at least in the running for acceptance, although with Nursing this is very difficult to predict, especially if you are from OOS, depending upon the overall applicant pool. UD generally gets 1500+ applications (the high majority from OOS) for Nursing, accepts around 300 applicants, to end up with a freshman Nursing class of 130-140. Roughly about 2/3rds of these freshman Nursing students are from OOS. I would estimate the OOS acceptance rate for Nursing is below 20%, so the competition is intense. If you are in-state your chances are much improved with the info you presented (the in-state applicant pool for nursing is much smaller and the stats you reported are very good). I wish you the best of luck.
