Hi. Anyone know whether UDel cares much ( or at all ) about SAT II scores for admission to the university ? ( I would imagine that for the honors program they would want to see / analyze such scores but I was just wondering more about general admission to the school ). Thanks.

Please note that the SAT Reasoning and/or ACT with Writing must be submitted for admissions consideration. Test scores without a writing component will not be accepted. Two SAT Subject tests of the student’s choosing are recommended, especially for Honors Program applicants, but not required.

Thanks Mattmoose. I guess re : SAT IIs, submission by an applicant is probably determined by how one does on it.

Of the kids I know who were accepted (all regular admissions, no honors), 1 (my son) took 1 SAT II and did decent (high 600s), another took no SAT IIs and the 3rd took 2 SAT IIs but did mediocre (high 500s, low 600s). I think for the honors program it’s strongly recommended. For regular admission it’s not as important.

I suppose if you are a borderline student for admission but show areas of strength, based on SAT IIs it could be helpful.

Hi MBJ: daughter who graduated in 08 had two SAT II’s in the low 700’s…you know the rest of the stats…No invitation to honors program at UDEL…

( Hi Rod ). My D has fairly decent SAT I ( 1250/1890 ); just took SAT IIs. I guess we’ll wait and see how she did on them. IMO, no point taking SAT IIs again…what they are, they are. She seems to like UMd and UDel as her top choices. Fine with me - - they would be considerably less than I am paying for my S down at Emory. Thanks.
