UDel Does it again

My daughters Blue Hen Page had a congratulatory messege this morning with an invitation to an accepted students orientation. She signed up and everything, but when mail came today there was a rejection notice. When I called admissions for a clarification they told me that the letter in mail was the actual decision and that they have been having IT issues with their portal. They then apologized and told me sorry. How does this happen 2 years in a row

THAT IS TERRIBLE! We had nothing on Blue Hen Home but got the package in the mail. We were told they were having problems. Shame on Delaware for making kids wait so long and then mess it up. We think we are turning down UD even with the scholarship.

Honestly you should let someone know. That is totally disgusting! If they don’t have the technical expertise to update the portal correctly then they shouldn’t do it. I am so so sorry. Totally not acceptable. I’ve lost a lot of respect for the University!!

We called and they said sorry about 1,000 times. They also said it happend to just a few candidates (unfortunately we were one of them), and they would have someone in Admin call me back. Just amazes me that this would happen 2 years in a row, every other school we applied to was handled so much better. Oh well

UD is unprofessional and bordering on incompetent. Who needs to attend a university that can’t even get their IT problems straightened out. They are not the only game in town. Shame on them.

That is awful. I’m worried that we may be in the same boat. Portal is updated with a congratulatory message but still no packet today. We had a similiar situation at another school. She was admitted to a very prestigous business program and then received an email that they made a mistake. She was accepted to their general programs and business at a satellite location. Not high on her list so no real disappointment but UD is her #1. PINS AND NEEDLES!

They should automatically give your daughter an acceptance!
