I haven't been accepted into any of them yet, but if I am, which do you think is the best choice? They all have similar tuition (UDel being the most), but which has the best academics, partying, and friendliness. Oh, I live in New York and plan on majoring in Biology. Thanks!

UDel, especially if you can get into the honors college.

A lot of people in my family have went to Rutgers NB. My brother, for instance, got accepted to Tulane and Tufts, but still chose Rutgers! Rutgers is one of the best schools for recruitment. NYC jobs flock to Rutgers kids in order to fill their intern positions- so long as your capable to make yourself stand out. Moreover, Rutgers is one of the cheapest schools. You’ll come out in very little debt afterwords. Partying (my brother was in a frat) is insane. Rutgers has a good rep for parties! The people at rutgers are all very similar to you (considering you live in a neighboring state) and you’ll be able to find yourself their.

As for UMass, it’s jokingly called “zoomass”. The partying is crazy, and the academics are good. The weather is much colder and the people are a little different (nothing major though). Amherst is a good college town, but i’m not sure how recruitment goes for it.

Udel, is a great school - don’t get me wrong. But I personally think it is a waste of money. It is much more expensive than the other schools. The partying is great, the people are normal, and the academics are top-notch. But as far as recruitment (you know how important I think that is!) it’s in the middle of nowhere! It’s a highly competitive school though, so if you get in, you should still consider it.

In regards to your major, I’m not quite sure which has the best biology program, but i’m sure if you research it you can find out!

I too am deciding (if i get accepted) between umass and rutgers, except as a business major. It seems as though you’re interested in a big state school, which I am as well. Only recently I started considering Penn State… I don’t know why I never thought of it before. It is currently my number one… perhaps you should look into it too!
Anyway, good luck! I hope for you to make the best decision!

Chance me if you can :)

^What kind of recruitment are you talking about? Since you mentioned NYC and a business major, I assume you’re talking about banking, consulting, or something along those lines. If so, let me tell you a well known fact: Rutgers is absolutely horrible for all of those things. Dreadful. Awful. Terrible. No way you get into any decent position unless you have amazing connections (i.e. - you’re uncle is an MD at Goldman). As a matter of fact, all of these schools are pretty bad for recruitment. None are “target” schools, or even semi-target. Don’t plan on going to work on Wall Street if you attend one of these schools.

I disagree with Pixels. Though, they may not be top recruiting schools, your education is what you make of it. If you work hard and take advantage of a schools resources then apply yourself full heatedly to finding a job and you can ge at good one! Any of the schools you listed will have great resources, you should make the best of whichever you choose.
Also, Pixels, they specifically stated they are looking into Biology not business…

The OP said that he wanted to become a biology major, not a business major, so it’s not about banking (much less I-banking) here.

pixels, you’re wrong. 3 of my family members majored in business at rutgers and have all ended up at interviews for The Big Four. Either way, this is completely irrelevant statement considering she/he wants to major in biology! i’m just giving any information i know about the schools. good luck again TheAwaiting :)

^I realize s/he wants to major in Bio, so I gave them my opinion, and then I replied to you. You’re family members were either extremely lucky, networked very hard, or knew someone. Big firms don’t recruit at Rutgers.

Thanks, you all were a great help. I guess when it comes down to it I’m going to have to visit them to make my final decision.
