I also received the 11th Grade TV Productions Award

Thanks!

I think its a big reach, but to me that’s good enough to try. You’ll never know unless you apply. People have said that UF can be arbitrary at times.

I think you have an excellent chance!

Find your UF GPA:

[Ask UF – How will UF compute my high school GPA?](http://www.questions.ufl.edu/admissions/freshman/15/)

Also: I’d say great chance if it weren’t for those SAT scores. How many times have you taken it? You’re 90 points below the 25th percentile of 1810.

Your rank is good, GPA is good, leadership is good, extracurriculars good…just as long as you write an awesome essay, I think you’ve got a great shot. People have gotten in with 1500s. You’re awesome on every end but test scores (which aren’t bad, just decent). However, UF has a holistics admissions process; meaning it’s not all about the numbers solely (and likewise, not all about the extracurriculars solely)…it’s all about if you’re application as a whole paints you as someone who they are looking for (and this is why the essay is so important because it plays a HUGE role in painting that image)…so if they see you as someone with leadership, innovative, and/or creative qualities, you’re probably getting in.

There are people who have amazing extracurriculars and academics (like I’m talking 1900-2100 ranged SATs and 4.0+ GPAs) yet don’t get in then wonder why…well, other than the fact that the “randomness” factor of admissions may have been why (yes, they are somewhat random in admissions), it also could be because UF didn’t see them as a leader, innovator, or one with a creative mindset…they just saw the student as someone who did awesome both in and out of school, but that’s it…no leadership quality, no creativity, no innovative sensation. Think of your application like an interview; presentation counts. If you’re able to present those qualities, you should be solid.

Also, one last note, make sure you’re doing summer because you want to. If you want to do Fall, apply for that. Picking Summer does NOT make it easier to get into UF. The terms you indicate have zero effect on whether you’ll get in or you won’t get in. There is no “easy” or “easier” way of getting in. I already know there will be kids who apply for Summer, get in for Summer, and then realize they want fall then request a term change to most likely be dissapointed and not get it approved.

Thank you! I want to get the required summer course over with. That is why I am taking summer b. And besides, it will take some time getting used to the campus before everyone else shows up. :)

I heard about that required Summer term thing, is that just for the state of Florida overall? I believe so because almost every college student I see does a summer term at least once. Well, all I hear from people that did Summer B is that it’s amazing, and quite a number of them stay in summer to just enjoy the campus without all the hooplah of people.

The Summer B term is awesome, you won’t regret taking it. Also, I’m pretty sure you’ll get in, you have pretty much the exact same stats that I did except you might have a few more leadership positions.
