I’m late to the party annd have an of topic question. We all know kids who have amaziing scores and resume’s full of extra curriculars and sports who do not get in while others who seemingly have a less “impressive” set of characteristics be admitted. That’s life. My question is specific to Fall GA and checking the “willing to attend PACE”. Does (essentially) applying to PAVE make it “easier” to get into UF? From all the people at UF Ive spoken with they all seem to agree that the GA and PACE students getting in could all be shuffeled and redealt into both PACE and GA. They are all that close in enrollment characteristics. “TO PACE or not to PACE…” that is the questiuon
Assuming their major of interest is included, I think PACE can be a great option. However, being fully online and living off-campus as a freshman at a huge school isn’t for the feint of heart. Both social and academic success will be much harder earned for some kids.

There is no way to apply to PaCE. It isn’t a check box like Innovation Academy. If your students major is also available as a PaCE major they will get offered admission via PaCE as a second look by admissions if they don’t make it in the fall/summer group. If they apply Exploratory ie Undecided that definitely increases chances of getting PaCE from what I’ve witnessed.

Doesn’t have to be exploratory or undecided but the student needs to apply for a PaCE major to be considered for PaCE.

Could I ask you about UF admissions for summer vs fall? Is there any advantage in admissions if a student selects summer as their preferred term? I hear so many different opinions on this subject. (all based on anecdotes) I know the official school policy based on the web page. Thank you in advance for your help.
Applying to summer/fall at UF is just putting in a preference. The admissions office isn’t looking at that at all when we are deciding who we are going to admit. It is afterwards (once our admitted group is established) that we look to see when does the student want to start and if we can accommodate that start time. We move fall students to summer and summer students to fall.

No, we have more students start in the Fall.
