Hey everyone just reminding all of you that we have 2 weeks and 4 days left! Good luck to everyone who applied to UF! I'm sure we are all awesome applicants for the school. For those who do get in congratulations, for those who don't, you tried and that's all that counts. You did your absolute best from ninth grade to now. Once again, Good luck everyone:)

counting down the days here too! on this website daily now

I remember decision day, all my friends were celebrating (I applied late using a special decision process). Now I feel old…

Good luck yall, when you get in, lookup when the football lottery is for fall. They do the lottery during summer, so a lot of freshmen miss it. It’s always worth entering .

I’ve been counting down as well. I’m trying to accept that things will work out either way and that I will end up at another great school if I’m not accepted to Florida, but it’s hard to completely believe that. Good luck to everyone!!

18 days…gah! The wait is killing me! It feels like it was easier when it was 3 - 4 months out, I could just breathe and forget about it. But now it’s so close…

^ Completely agree. When it was a month or more away, it was just like, “Oh, I don’t hear for a while.” Now that it’s getting close and I realize that, in 17 days, a huge decision about my future will have been made for me…it’s all I can think about. I hear from my second choice around the same time, too, so I’m panicking at the thought of not getting into either.

anybody else get the email about making sure all your stuff is in? i got it on my phone and freaked out bc i only got half on the 1st screen andi thought it was telling me that decisions were online haha…

I got that email too. TOTALLY freaked b/c the subject line is “Application Status” or something, hahaha. Thanks for making us even more nervous, UF.

I freaked out when I saw that too!! Such a tease – definitely just make me more anxious.

^me four! I got the email too, I was like whoa, are they giving notifications already?

I definetley agree with all of you guys, since its become closer it’s as if I’m becoming more stressed, and my fallback school, UCF will probably be giving me an admission around the same time, so i know how you feel reginaphalange. As for the rest of you, I had the same reaction when I saw that email today. My first thought was OMG! then I thought “wait! why are they releasing them so early?” and then i calmed down when i opened it, and realized that they were just teasing us lol. But just keep commenting throughout the next two weeks. I know some people are stressing, like myself, what do those of you, who are stressing, doing to take your minds off the big day? If you could list some activities you help to calm yourselves down. Also, i’m pretty sure there is a thread thats been created for the big day, a thread that everyone can go to and post regarding if they got accepted or not. So post to that also! Once again, good luck everyone! from me:)

Not sure about calming yourself down…I post here to pass the time, but that tends to have the opposite effect. The only advice I have is to get a lot of sleep every night. If you’re asleep, you can’t be thinking about it, and it makes the time pass more quickly – plus we’re all probably going to lose sleep for the couple nights before decisions come out (and for some a couple days after). And I guess reading, as well, because that’s something that just helps me calm down in general.

I’m also interested to hear what other people are doing to keep themselves busy/relaxed as we await decisions!

Lol I’m sure many peoppe will be so stressed on the 11th, that they won’t go to school because they won’t be able to focus because of the tention.

I was at school 8th period and my iPhone vibrated and I saw UF emailed me and I was thinking it had something with application status or problems regarding my application. Haha my heart was pounding.

FSUbound. If you get in, are you still choosing FSU over it?

To be honest Im not totally sure yet. Leading towards FSU(no offense to any die heart UF applicants), but it really depends on financial aid and who is offering the best package.

I agree with you FSUbound, I’m am kind of happy now that the time is getting closer though, because now so many people will be stress free depending on their situation, I know I will be. this is the only school I think about lol. But I’m going to school so i can take my mind off of it. If i stay home, I may go crazy before 6pm ever comes lol.

Lol true! Staying home will probably only make it worse. Lol

Going back to how to pass the time, I find that hitting the gym works well. Definitely burns off the nervous oh-dear-god-please-let-me-get-in energy. That and hanging with friends, company is a great distraction for me. And Smile93, UF is my #1 as well!

yeah working would help to pass time, you burn calories while making yourself tired, which, as reginaphalange said, causes you to sleep, and sleep always passes time lol. I wish there was some kind of hint, as to of you go in or not. Like on the end of some of the emails maybe there a secret smiley face or something lol, that would be funny. Only time will tell, ugh, i want it to be here now!

It’s just so difficult to deal with the fact that the decision is completely out of our control. These people we’ve never met are making a decision that will affect the rest of our lives and there’s nothing we can do about it now – more than enough to cause us tons of anxiety.

Florida is (I think!) my top choice as well. If I get into one of my super-reach schools, there’s a small chance I would go there instead, but I’m like 95% sure I’m going to Florida if I get in.
