Your right Regina, that’s the messed up part, how do you stand out, out of 23,000 other applicants. It’s amazing, how these people have the power to control something that we want to be able to control. Hopefully they make the right choice and accept all kinds of people into thier school. From reading last years threads, I learned that different people were accepted, with high stats and low. Someone got in with a 19 ACT, another person with a 28 ACT. Some people get in with 3.0’s and others 4.5’s. It’s all jumbled and random. That’s why I say to not be negative about your admission decision. Because honestly we don’t know who is getting in, that’s what I like about UF. They look at the student as a person and not as a GPA, or test score.

I totally agree with you Smile93, I love how we are looked at as people, not just a test score.

But I love how on here everyone has the same goal. At my school, people don’t talk about college. It’s nice to see people who care like I do! (:

The variety of people at UF is one of the reasons I want to go there, and hey! Another day of waiting is done!! Just out of curiosity, what are you all planning to major in? If we all get in, is there anything in Gainesville (apart from UF) that you like/can’t wait to do?

Lol, that e-mail scared me too.

Do people even get in if they applied late? I applied the day of the deadline, haha…

I think if you applied that day, you’re fine. After that, I believe, they will review applications until the class is full – i.e. you still have a chance, but probably not the same chance as those who applied on time.

ufucfbound, i agree with you, i like being around people, who have a goal in life, and want to accomplish it.

aviator, My intended major is pre vet, what I want to major in is vet medicine. I love animals:)

Go accounting! I am expected to pursue engineering, as I am the engineer-type, but I really like business/accounting stuff. I know the Fisher School is renowned, and I can have a very successful life with an accounting degree, regardless of stereotypes.

And after getting deferred from Brown University, I realize UF is a better choice anyway.

engineer, Don’t back down from something you want to do because of stereotypes. I think everyone regardless of the obstacles that come should have a chance to pursue those dreams. I want to be a vet, I’ve always wanted to be one, since i was in middle school. And the crazy thing is animals have always attracted to me, even the aggressive ones. It’s crazy, but i think that’s something good all vets should have lol.

If accepted what dorm would you guys prefer to live in?

I’m hoping for either Beaty, for the private room, or Weaver, the international hall. I think it would be super cool to live with someone from another country. You?

I hope to live in springs, I really like the single room there also. Hume is nice but it’s honors, and I was looking at reynolds, but if you stay there your apart of the living healthy thing. Which mean no drinking, no doing anything wrong, and excercising, which of course i like doing. But the other stuff is like saying don’t go to a party and have a college life lol. Also not only do you have to attend regular classes but you have to attend classes pertaining to your dorm. And my fried explained to me you must write essays every other week. Crazy but true. But that’s if you want to live in a community dorm. I forgot the actual name of what those dorms are called, but it;s all explained on the website. I’m sorry but not only does college life include working hard, being stressed, meeting new people, and becoming responsible as a young adult. But it also includes it’s fun sides, parties, hanging out with friends, playing in the quad lol. And one of the things above is going to cause someone to have at least one drink. lol, but it’s whatever floats your boat:)

I want to live in springs or beaty. I did my housing early so I hope I get in (:

OMG I’M SO NERVOUSSSSS

Yeah me to:) I think it was required we turn in a housing application and th $25. At first I was like, what?! But then people told me to do it anyway, so i can atleast get a goo dnumber in line to choose a dorm, just in case i do get in. But im nervous too. I’m happy this week is almost over! in 3 days, we will have 1 week and 4 days left:) Counting down. but i have been taking my mind off of it by doing be dual enrollment courses, and just getting used to my new classes at school, since we just started our new semester.

Thank you! good luck to you also if you applied! and trust me I’ve been studying hard since 9th grade lol

Two weeks and one day!! I’m so excited I hope we all get in!

LOL oh how I remember the feeling all of you are going through. I can’t say that I know the feeling of waiting that long because I applied early admissions and found out in December so by this time I was just ready to get out of high school. But nonetheless, I was still very anxious. I graduate from UF in May! A big heads up to you all who are waiting, the server usually crashes a few times on the day that admission statuses are released because literally thousands of people are checking at the same time. My advice to you guys is by patient lol, it’ll certainly be worth the wait because ITS GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA GATOR! Good luck and GO GATORS!!!

memories, this is gator4ever’s dad. I was reading all the post and thought I would share how it was when I applied to UF back in 1976. Wow did I just write that 1976? 35 years ago seems like only yesterday.

Back then it was not as difficult to get into U of F as it is today. I will tell you that I went to a small high school. 9 of us applied to U of F 3 of us got in and the other 7 went to well you know that other school in our capital city. ;)

I wish everyone the best and can tell you that the next 4 or 5 years of your life will be the BEST. So make the best of it and enjoy. My junior year we went 0-10-1 and every game was sold out. So go to the games and have a blast.

And yes it truly is “Great to be a Florida Gator”

Yes the wait is killing me lol, but your right, patience is the only thing we have right now:)

Waiting is much worse when you haven’t been accepted anywhere yet… 2 weeks left!

Zapad I know how you feel too, I’ve been waiting for schools for forever feels like. Lol most of them begin giving out decisions around feb, so let’s cross our fingers:)

ZapadniyRus- where all have you applied and when did you send in your apps?
