UF Application status

I submitted my application about 15 minutes before the November 1 deadline. I checked my status for for the first time online today and it says they received it November 2. I go and check my email and I realize I didn't get a confirmation email until 5:30 AM. I know for a fact I didn't stay up that late to submit my application and I know I didn't submit it the very last minute; because like I said before, I submitted it15-20 before the deadline. Has anyone else had this problem, and do you think they'll listen to me if I call them?

Bump…

Two things –
Obviously if you call UFL admissions, they will provide you with guidance and answer your question.
Secondly, “IN MY OPINION”, anyone who waits for the last 15 minutes before midnight on the LAST day of the application window to submit an application to possibly one of the most important decisions of one’s life, does not deserve consideration !

Thirdly, this “application problem” that you brought onto yourself is an excellent lesson in life.

@ilovethe47: what about the people that didnt wait but worked on their apps from the start till the last minute to make sure it was excellent? Would you say they don’t deserve consideration? I wouldn’t.

Anyways to op, just talk to admissions, hopefully they’ll help you out.

From the assistant director of admissions: “Thanks and congratulations on submitting your application on November 1st. The November 2nd date is merely an indication that your application “rolled over” into our system overnight. Please be assured that you submitted your application prior to the November 1st”

It turns out my “application problem” was never a problem. I just read into it wrong. But lesson learned, and hopefully anyone who has the same “problem” (which I’m sure many will discover in the future) will see this an be relieved.

I just noticed this too, and got so worried about it. I sent in my application the morning of Nov 1, so a good bit before you. I was listed as Nov 2 also, so I’m guessing it’s commonly a day late. I’ll probably check just to make sure.

I applied so late partially because I was working on the essays and application for a while, but also because I thought I’d be going to another school, so UF got put on the backburner. Since I really want to go to UF now, hopefully it all works out.

Same thing happened to me, except I turned it in about 3 minutes before the deadline. They said they received it on the second. How did you find out? Did you e-mail or call the admissions office?

^^
Did you really submit your application three minutes before the midnight deadline ?
Also, why did you do that as I would really like to know why you and other’s here waited for the last minute and please don’t tell me you were busy ?

I submitted mine on the 30th. Although I started the application in August, it took me a while to find an essay topic and write. I also procrastinated hard.

Yeah I just emailed them at freshman@ufl.edu. If you email them, they’re really good at responding!!!

You may want to talk to the Admissions office. As far as I’m aware, UF is very strict on the dead line, meaning any applications received after 11:59 on the deadline are rejected.

I hope this won’t be a problem for you. The reason I know this is because my project for ENC 3254 last semester regarded UF’s admissions.

wait does it have to be submitted by november 1st or no later than november 1st?

@haha778 This is what it says on their website: “The freshman application deadline is November 1. Please submit the completed online application no later than the end of the day to be considered on-time. Freshman applications received after November 1 will receive a decision on a space-available basis only.”

I have already turned my in today at 6pm, still waiting for a confirmation letter.

When will I be able to make an ISIS/gator link in order to check my status. Will I receive a confirmation email?

Also how will I know if UF received my application on time?

PSU1959,

You should be able to now created a GatorLink account. “You will need the UFID you received when you submitted your application; it is also on your printed application summary. It can take two days to process your account request (or more), so allow for this time before attempting to log back on to ISIS.”

“Two to four weeks after submitting your online application and application fee, you can check on the status of your application to make sure all the required application materials have been received before the deadline.”

You should also receive an e-mail confirmation that your app payment was received and processed.

Good Luck!
