Are you in-state for Florida? Othewise UF can be an expensive option for an OOS student ($28K/year in tuition)
Your grades are fine (see below), but does UF uses holistic admissions, so your EC’s will matter. Include everything related to EC’s in your app. What do you do during the school year, other than taking classes? Your summers are fine (work and volunteering).
UF doesn’t use your AP test scores in admissions (only for college credit), and your choice in major will not effect admissions.
Good Luck!!
EDIT: By the way, being the first in your family to attend college is considered by UF and it’s a plus. Make sure that’s in your app. .
@Gator88NE Sorry to piggyback onto this thread but just to clarify what you said about being the first to attend college (which I am too), the personal info part of the app asks whether your parents have degrees/attended college, so is that sufficient to show that i’m a first-gen college student or should I find somewhere else to mention it in my app - like in my essays or resume or something?
@DorkNumba2 I think your chances look pretty good! This is coming from a fellow applicant The only potential weak spot I see for you is your lack of leadership positions in clubs but I’d say your volunteer work makes up for it.
Hello, the description that you provided was exceptional. I just want you to know if UF does not accept you for any reason try to consider going to Santa Fe College first. Transfer rates to UF are about 70% for all Associate of Arts degree students. P.S. You have Options!
