omg!!! I’m accepted !!! :)

Congratulations xoxo!!

ahhh thank you!

yeah hopefully ill hear soon. itd be nice to hear back from UCF and UF already -.-

congrats xoxo!!! im happy for you since its your first choice

Congratulations xoxoluv2shop!!!

Congratulations xoxo! So happy for you, I can’t wait anymore ahhhh lol

When did you apply?

David- I think you will hear back from UCF long before UF. I applied to UCF at this time last year, and heard back fairly quickly (one month tops). I got in, but they don’t offer my major…

what is your major? Mine is psychology and I’m hoping to pursue in clinical psychology . So hopefully ucf suitable for that

The major I applied to UCF as last year was nursing, and I did get into their nursing program (limited access) but I decided against being a nurse.

UCF does not offer any type of food science/nutrition/dietetics major, and that is what I am applying to UF as.

I would think UCF would be just fine for psychology. Are you planning on grad school then (clinical specialty?)

xoxoluv2shop- were you given any conditions to your admittance? You mentioned that you were still completing one or more prerequisite courses. Just curious if this was mentioned. I’m in the same boat with my courses right now.

Anyone know when we can check our financial aid? I’m pretty sure I added UF when I filed my FAFSA. That was all we had to do right D:? I still haven’t received anything in the mail. No idea how long I have to accept, how to accept, or when orientation will be.

And how long will it take for me to get my housing contract (I paid the 25$ holding fee when I applied for admission)? Can I be an RA or do I have to live on campus for a while first?

So many questions!

I have to get a C or higher in my classes ! (which I wouldn’t want to get lower than anyways!) I am soooooooo pumped! and I think I applied in like may?! it was right after spring semester.

Having to get a C min is very doable! Thanks for letting me know- going to guess it is similar for other transfers.

Congrats again! What will you do for housing?

Scotus- I’d definitely contact the fin. aid office and housing offices and ask them Monday!

thanks tinuv!! and yes I don’t want to get c’s anyways so I’m not worried! lol
but I’m trying to maybe find a sublease? or possibly just sign a short lease? not sure if I want to stay for summer or come home u know?

but I think signing for a year would be cool because some apts offer cool perks like $250 gift card or a free cruise for two ! don’t know. any suggestions from any CCers?!
anyone need roomate or know someone who does?! :)

scotus I was looking for that too ! (how do we tell them we are going!) didn’t see anything on the website!

Are we allowed to change our majors once we get there? I’m not sure I want to major in Polysci anymore. Would be nice to have a job after graduation and all =p

xoxoluv2shop: as far as deciding whether to take a summer load or not at UF, I think as transfers we are expected to finish/graduate in 2 years or four terms. Was anything said about this when you were accepted? It may in the letter you get in the mail- I have read it online but I’m not 100% sure.
Because for me, I will be forced to take a summer load because one of my required courses won’t be offered during a certain term, and it serves as prereq to others. If I am to graduate in 4 terms, then I am forced to go at least to the first summer term so that I may take this prereq in sequence.

Scotus- I also read that UF does not allow change of majors. I know that they do not once you have submitted your application, but I do not know how strict they are once you actually get there/are a student. They do discourage it though. What would you change to? Job prospects are good to think about…if I didn’t care at all I would’ve just picked English literature :D

xoxoluv2shop- I will possibly need a roommate if I’m accepted! lol

I didn’t know we are expected to graduate in 4 semesters but if so I will probably take a summer load just
to be safe. I wanted to take 4 classes a semester for my first semester just to make sure I don’t over work myself. maybe I should take five after all?

Again, I’m not 100% sure but I have read it in more than one place. It is something to find out for sure.

Another factor to consider regarding class load is the fact that UF is going back to block tuition. This affects all full time students (12 hours or more). For all full time students, everyone pays for the same number of credit hours: 15. If you take between 12-14 (depending on whether you have 3/4/5 hr classes you may get some odd number), you still pay full tuition for 15.
However if you take 16+ hours, you only pay for 15 hours that term.
UF’s main reason for doing this is to encourage fast/timely graduation, to give incentives to take an accelerated load (over 15 hours) to those who would like to, and to ensure ‘predictable income’ to the university.
If I have to graduate in 4 terms, then I have to take at least 15 hours every term anyways.

I just found out about this a couple weeks ago.

edit- I just realized it says that this begins in fall 2012, so I don’t think it will apply just yet…but we will be affected.
This also only applies to spring/fall terms, not summer.
