UF Decisions Out Early!?

2 people I'm friends with on Facebook just announced they were accepted to UF and posted pictures to prove it!

I logged in immediately, but my admissions status hasn't changed. If you've applied, you might want to check.

Nothing here either…

I am so jealous of them.

Me too. Did you apply early or late? I applied late. One girl mentioned she applied months before the deadline, so there was some speculation that the application date had something to do with it.

I applied on time but this is on my admissons page “The Check Status system is not available. Please return to ISIS to view your admission decision the evening of March 25.” Which is really weird and somewhat annoying. But I looked that sentence up on google and some girl posted last year that she got the same message but recieved her decision on Feb 10th (last years date)

Yes, some decisions are definitely up. My DD got in. Checked her FB, and no one else is reporting seeing anything, but possibly, that’s because they didn’t e-mail to say it would be early (as FSU did last month). Good luck to everyone!

Sorry, by late I just meant close to the deadline, not actually later than it. Mine still said Feb 8, I’m not getting that March 25 message.

This is quite odd.

I applied september 11, nothing for me

when you look at your admisson’s page, does it look the same? Or are the boxes that had “All time accounted for, Transcripts recieved, etc” gone? Mine are gone…

Mine looks the same

Wow… I guess I’ll call them tomorrow and ask.

Mine also looks the same. Calling sounds like a good idea.

Yeah but the thing is it’s not like they can do anything, if they have not made a decision already I doubt they will go make one before Friday. I just really can’t wait until March 25 because my scholarship to another school cancels out March 1st. Which I already had to get an extension to hear from UF on friday.

I don’t think they’ll really make you wait until March. Their system is screwed up. Even my daughter’s acceptance looked weird, like some of the stuff was still the old stuff from before she got accepted. If not for the word, congratulations, she would have been confused. I bet yours will be up tomorrow.

No change yet on DS status. I am wondering if maybe Innovation Academy is being released first?

Yeah you are probably right. But Congrats to your daughter! I am applying for the innovation academy as well!

Yeah, I heard some of my friends got in as well… I’m still not seeing anything new though.

y’all about gave me a heart attack… checked status as quickly as possible and nothing’s changed. Looks like I will have to wait another 36 hours !

Another person posted about being accepted to UF. Now they’ve taken the admissions status page down, it seems.

What worries me is that I haven’t heard anything about someone being denied early. If they’ve accidentally sent out a bunch of early acceptance letters to students, including some they wanted to deny, how would UF handle that?

Here’s the explanation from a local Florida paper:
“A computer glitch tipped off about 200 of about 27,000 want-to-be University of Florida Gators to their admission status days before the official announcements are to be posted, university officials confirmed Thursday.
“It came to our attention about 7 o’clock (Wednesday) night,” said UF spokesman Steve Orlando on Thursday.
The university posts its acceptance — and rejection — notices online and has done so for several years, Orlando said. This year, UF received about 27,000 applications for 6,500 spots in the next freshman class. Applicants have a secure log-on with which to check the status when it is posted Friday, at 6 p.m.
The process requires the decisions for all applicants to be uploaded to a website. “While we do that, we mask them,” Orlando said. But in the process of uploading about 3,000 of the 27,000 “they became unmasked” and it appears that about 200 applicants saw their decision, he said.
“A lot of students are very, very eager for this acceptance,” Orlando said. “There’s lots and lots of online chatter from applicants venting their excitement and anxiety.”
The university said that no decision — even those glimpsed in error this week — is official until Friday at 6 p.m.”
