UF Dorm Recommendations

No problem! There’s nothing left in Springs, though.

@Percussor - Parking is a nightmare in general on campus, especially if you’re a freshmen. Springs doesn’t have a huge parking lot, and I think the spots that are there are for upperclassmen. But Springs has the advantage of being across from Frat Row and next to the track, so you could probably find spots there, not guaranteed though!

Hi, I will be staying in Murphree Hall with a two room triple. What exactly is a two room triple? Is it a small room with one person and then a larger room with two people?

I’m really confused and any info would be helpful! :)

What about Trusler and graham? I’ve been on these boards for awhile now, and it seems like no one has mentioned these. I wanted to stay in Trusler, but is there something wrong with it that I don’t know about?

newgator, a two room triple is exactly what you described. whoever gets there first has dibbs on the room alone. both are actually very similar in size, so the person who picks the room alone is at an advantage. the two rooms are separated by a doorway with no door. murphree is an awesome place to spend freshman year! good luck :)

For those of you that have already picked your rooms, you couldn’t even login to your myhousing portal until your date and time right?

you can log into your housing portal, but you can’t get into the room sign up portion of it.

Yeah, I was clicking the wrong thing. Thanks.

So how exactly are the communal bathrooms setup? I’ve never been and no one has ever told me like how the showers are setup. Weird I know, but a valid question nonetheless.

The ones in Murphree were like a bathroom stall but with a shower. The ones in the Tolbert area have like a common area behind a shower curtain and then a raised tile area to put your towel, clothes etc. At one end of the common area there are 2-3 individual showers through another set of curtains.

Hi, guys. How is Mallory Hall? Is it nice? Is it a good hall for freshmen?

I finally get to pick my dorm today. Still don’t know what I want, probably need to get on that. Although at this point, I fear that I may be quite limited. Its gonna suck cause I work during my selection time, so I’ll have to have my mom or sister pick for me.

Only Triples and late triples are left. The rumor that they hold a few rooms for each session, was just a rumor.

yeah my date was the 16th and I got one of the last doubles. I think theres like 1 or 2 double rooms left. One in buckman and another in trusler.

how many spots are there left in trusler? My date isn’t untill july 12, do you think there will still be room by then?

“how many spots are there left in trusler? My date isn’t untill july 12, do you think there will still be room by then?”

There are eight spots left in trusler hall and they are all late application triples. I really dont know if there is going to be any room left because spots are filling up fast. but dont lose hope; there might be a few rooms left but they might not be your preferences. Good luck!!

So for now I’m in a late application triple in simpson. Should I have any preference between graham, simpson, and trusler? Cause thats pretty much all thats left. And what floor should I go with?

^ There are a few permanent triples at yulee area and broward if thats what you want, which IMO are better than the late application triples.

Bad news…

For the women who didnt pick their rooms yet: there are only triples and late application triples left. the only double rooms that are left are in Buckman Hall (non-air) and Thomas Hall (non-air).

Barbie, I don’t think those are for guys.
