UF Engineering

I have been accepted to Illinois, Michigan, Purdue, and Florida for engineering, specifically industrial or civil. Still waiting on USC, which is half dream school, but half pipe dream. I am in state for Illinois, so it is a safe/smart/obvious choice. Or I can stretch my funds and go to Michigan. But today I got $20,000 a year merit scholarship from UFlorida, which makes it the cheapest school on my list. Is it worth it to go to a school like UF, with a good, not elite engineering program? Or am I going to regret not going to Illinois, Michigan, Purdue or USC?

Everyone has their own cost-sensitivity curve, but I hope you realize that for industrial/systems at least, UF is ranked higher than Illinois and USC…programs you seem to consider “elite”.

I’m in the same boat as you mclax - got into UT and UIUC but UF gave me close to 20k/year merit aid so now I’m reconsidering going there for ChemE.

yes but are you in state IL or TX?

nope im OOS for UT UIUC and UF.
