JoeAce, yes I was kinda shocked to find out that they accepted less than 50 transfer students last year. The fact that I am from an OOS CC makes me even feel discouraged. Im still waiting and am prepared for the worst :)

Is there anybody else applying to Fisher School of Accounting? I really have to think what to do if they dont accept me. I am actually convinced that I can get accepted, but at the same time I doubt it will happen because of the extremely limited seats.
Do you think UF considers your preprof GPA more than your average GPA?

redzgo- I was originally considering fisher but the limited admittance and lack of interest deterred me. They definitely consider your preprof GPA though, it’s more important than your average GPA. I would apply to Fisher and if you get denied you can always change to finance.

Iamthewalrusss,
Maybe thats what I will do if they reject me. I have to be optimistic that they will accept me haha.

Anyway, am I the only one still waiting here?

Nope, still waiting! I applied maybe 3 weeks ago though.

I applied for Summer 2013 to Fisher School of Accounting, but I waited few weeks for them to tell me they couldn’t evaluate my application because I didn’t have Managerial Accounting completed yet (was in progress during Spring 2013). Now that I got an A in that class, I can now officially submit my latest transcript. They told me to resubmit an application for Fall 2013 though, so that’s what I’ll have to do. It’s kind of my fault but I wanted to see if they could at least consider me for Summer since I have an apartment in Gainesville already.

Anyhow, I just found out all of my grades yesterday (woo - 4.0 semester GPA) – I will resubmit my application for Fall 2013 today to Fisher School of Accounting.

They offered me to do Finance on my denial letter for the Summer 2013 term - I told them I wanted to reapply for accounting. I hope Finance is still an option for me as a back-up option if I get denied for the Fall 2013 term in Accounting.

What do you guys think?

Wow. That is very impressive. Yes, you did the right thing to resubmit. You have a much better chance than me at least haha
Good luck

Hi everyone. I applied transfer to Animal Science major back in February and have not heard a thing! My application has been sent to the college(at least 2 months ago) and I have called and emailed them. They don’t answer the phone, my emails, or fb message. I just want to know if everything is ok and a general idea of when admissions decisions will be out. I’ve left voice mails with 2 admissions staff.NOTHING… Is this normal for UF?

Also, has anybody else applied to Animal biology and heard back? I have 3.39, probably be a little higher after I finish my last 2 pre-req this summer.

Nice to see someone else from CALS! I also applied to CALS, but I applied to Agricultural Education. I wanted to do Animal Science but I couldn’t handle all the prereqs, so I focused on the ones for Ag Ed. Anyway…I’m in the same boat as you. Don’t freak out. The CALS facebook page posted that Fall decisions would be out by July 15th. Seems like forever I know, but do know that they aren’t done yet.

Since I was told to resubmit my application for Fall 2013 (due to my application not being evaluated when I applied for Summer A/C 2013), I completed and submitted my application on May 9. I also submitted my final transcript from Santa Fe College on May 9. I just checked GatorLink today and it appears it’s already being sent to the college for a final decision. It’s only been 1 day, I’m so impressed! But, I assume it’s because I’ve already submitted an application with all my transcripts (high school, dual enrollment, and community college) back in January for Summer A/C 2013 term. I REALLY hope I get accepted into the accounting program for Fall 2013.

Agentk, you will get accepted there. I am positive.

Hopefully, me too

Has any one that applied to the college of engineering found out if they have been accepted or not??? I thought I would have found out by late April/early May.

Pablo, i applied for Engineering way back in January. I thought i was going to hear back sometime in April as well, but here we are in may still waiting. i meet all the requirements and have a good GPA, 3.5 core GPA. Applied for Electrical Engineering. i was accepted to USF and UCF but UF i guess just takes a long time to hear back from. Let me know whenever u hear back and i will do the same Pablo.

I also applied in January. I’ll let you know.

I just got into UF’s engineering school for Fall 2013. I applied as an FIU student in late February. My overall GPA is a 3.25 and my prof GPA a 3.35. So those engineering majors who think a 3.3 won’t get you in, don’t lose hope, and most importantly, keep in constant contact with the engineering school’s advisors. Good luck to all and it’s great to be a florida gator!!

Congratulations Patwill92

Although I applied to a different school, your acceptance does bring my optimism back. Finger crossed

I contacted Fisher school a few days ago. They said that they will wait until June 1st to compile all of their applicant data and choose the students they think will succeed in their program.

I wonder why some of the members here already got admitted to Fisher school of accounting.

Anyway, June 1st is approaching, kinda nervous and somehow excited at the same time. Really hope I get in.

June 1? Wow, they’re kind of making things difficult for you guys. You would only have a couple months to find a place to live, and apartments are disappearing quickly in Gainesville. That’s pretty unfair.

Flor1dagator7,

Yes, I have to agree. Especially I am not from Florida and have no friends there. I even have confirmed to some universities that I am not going to their school. I did that just because I believe I can get in to Fisher.

I just follow their game. Wish me luck!

@redzgo,

Worst comes to worst, you get denied and I can assure you that if you then choose to change to a business major, you will most definitely get accepted. That’s what ended up happening to me (Finance major now), and the acceptance was extremely last minute (I believe it was like 2 weeks before the spring term).
