UF, FSU, UCF - in-state...Chances?

FL resident

GPA: 2.8 unweighted; 4.1 weighted; Rank, top 20%

AP exams (4): Art History (2), American History (2), Psychology (3), English (4)

AP courses completed (6): Art History (10th grade), American History (11th grade), Biology (11th grade), English (11th grade), European History (11th grade), Psychology (11th grade)

AP courses this year: AP English, AP Economics/Gov’t, AP World History

Took no “slack” classes—my only non-honors courses are required for graduation.

SAT: 1850 (Math + Verbal = 1170) (Math 550, Writing 670, Verbal 620)
I’ll be retaking the SAT in October, and expect my score to improve.

ECs: job (20 hours a week, 11th – 12th grade); 30 community service hours (I’ll have 75 by the end of the year); member, science national honors society (10th – 12th grade); member, computer club (11th – 12th grade); award for writing (10th grade); member, biology club (10th grade); member of commercial production club (12th grade)

Chances: UF (I’m applying early decision), Tulane, FSU, UCF

My Mom is a UF alumna, if that matters.

Anyone? Please?

You look like someone I know who attends Everglades High....

Can you raise your GPA? If so you will definitely get in. Otherwise, you prob have like 80%!

Good luck (10 characters)

Thanks.

By the way, the 4.1 weighted is on my school's scale, not UF's. If UF adds 0.5 for honors and 1.0 for AP--which I think it does--then my UF GPA is only about a 3.4.

you have a fairly good chance.. although the admissions officer that came to my school said that the GPA counts as 60% and scores as 10%

Thanks. Anyone else?
