UF FSU USF UCF for business?

If you were accepted to UF FSU USF and UCF which would you chose for a business major? Which would you chose based on overall academics? Which would you chose based on how nice the students are?
Thank you!

UF’s Warrington College of Business (which includes the Heavener School of Business) is by far the best rated. It’s very selective as compared to the other’s you listed.

Basically, it’s the same students at all of those schools. They all have a high % of in-state students, who attended the same schools. UF tends to have the “higher ranked” students, but all 5 get the best in-state students.

Gator88NE is pretty spot on. Florida is the highest rated but the others are good too. If you want to work out of Florida, UF is more widely known than the others. If not UF, think UCF and USF- Orlando and Tampa re much better locales for internships, job opportunities, quality of life than Tallahassee.

How is UF’s business school compared to UM’s? Also, does UF have an undergrad school of business? I heard from somewhere that they only have a graduate school of business…

^^^UF has a large undergraduate program with several top 10 programs (like accounting, quantitative analysis, etc.). It’s school (undergraduate and grad) is much higher ranked than the University of Miami(FL).

UF is the most selective in state (Florida) school, and most people would probably say its undergraduate business program is best academically. I think all the schools you listed have good academics, though. As far as reputation, alumni networking, etc. (factors that can help getting internships and jobs), UF is tops with FSU second. You asked about nice students: I have heard from recent applicants and students that FSU has the nicest, friendliest students. Also, another poster mentioned that Tallahassee doesn’t have as many internship/job opportunities, but if you’re at all interested in government and politics, you can’t beat being in the state capitol. Have you visited all the schools? If not, try to go before you have to decide.

I know FSU and UCF don’t offer direct admissions to the undergrad business school. I can’t tell how UF program is?

As a Freshman, it’s direct admissions. Or, a better way of saying it, as a Freshman/sophomore, you can select any major in the College of Business. You can be undecided, and switch to Business without much difficulty. Keep in mind that admissions to UF is done at the University level and not the college (business, engineering, etc.) level. UF is also very supportive of Freshman/Sophomores switching majors, and expect most to switch majors at least once.

One side effect of this flexibility, is it’s much harder to get into the College of Business (or other high demand majors, like mechanical engineering) as a transfer student, since most of it’s capacity is assigned to freshman admits.

EDIT: To be more clear, as a Freshman, you can select the College of Business, as long as you’re in good academic standing.

@Eaglesukbad what are you basing the intership job information on? I thought FSU has a much better reputation as a business school than UCF or USF?
And can you please explain the quality of life comments?

I’m a third year journalism student at UF, and while I may not be apart of the business school here, a lot of my friends are, and I spend a lot of time at the business buildings. The programs for mentors and traveling to competitions are readily available to students. I have two friends who have traveled to compete in case competitions – one of which has done more than one, and even flew over seas for the other. There are so many opportunities available at UF that surpass just the classes, and I think the business college is known for being especially good here. Those all seem like wonderful options, best of luck making your decision!
