UF Honors College?

Is there really any significant difference between the UF Honors College and the rest of the university? And does it hold any weight when one is trying to transfer to, say an ivy league institution?

No to all your questions. The only thing it provides academically is smaller intro classes in select areas.

No significant difference at all, and I honestly don’t think I’m going to put being in honors on my resume when I graduate. It’s pointless.

^ It seems like it’d be even more pointless not to take the 5 seconds to add it if you went through with it.

I’ll put that I’m graduating with honors down, because that means something, but being part of the honors program is absolutely pointless.

The idea probably is that you would have some other accomplishment that would look better than what amounts to “took a few intro classes with smarter kids”.

There’s still no reason not to add it just because you felt like it didn’t really mean anything. I could see omitting it if you’re trying to stay on x amount of pages and by adding another word or two, you’d have to start another page with just one thing on it.

It adds nothing. In fact, it probably adds less than nothing because it shows a disregard for what employers care about. Now, if you’re talking about graduating with honors (per Zaersz’s post), that’s a little different.
