I had an unweighted GPA of 3.89 and an SAT score of 1470 but was admitted to the Honors Program because I am a National Merit Finalist. I do believe all National Merit Finalists automatically are allowed to apply for admission, although I'm not sure if they are guaranteed admission.

I had well above a 1500 and the GPA (I got in) but I know of a kid (I met on here) who was accepted to Dartmouth and Cornell, but not accepted to UF Honors due to 20 points on his SAT.

Btw, I am a National Merit Finalist, and want to know how I know you're lieing? National Merit Finalist letters didn't come out until ~2-3 weeks after the UF Honors application deadline. So unless you meant SEMIFINALIST, then I don't know what's up with you.

But yeah, I know of idiots who get in lateral admission. It would be a great program if lateral admissions did not exist. I'll still go though. :)

If you're referring to me, then technically I guess you're right. I never really had any doubt that I would be a finalist, but I do suppose that I completed my Honors Application before receiving official notification of my finalist status. It sounds like you're headed to UF. Congrats on picking a great school! You heading into Hume?

Was it really necessary to call someone out like that? That was pretty lame. It's just an online forum... it doesn't really matter if someone tells the truth or not... and I know I told people I was a finalist before I was... it's a 15/16 chance you'll make it.

Anyway, not the coolest thing to call someone out on.
