UF housing question?

I am going to be a freshman at UF in the fall and am trying to get a triple room with two of my friends. I submitted the $25 back in August so I have a pretty early date. One of my friends just got accepted and has not yet been approved for a housing contract. I know that UF goes by the earliest application date, but does the fact that her contract is late have an effect on me?

She will probably be put on the waiting list, so if she is then you probably will not be able to pick her as a roommate. It is my understanding that people who apply for housing now are put on wait list, but you could call housing to make sure.(and you can only put people down who have an active contract)

I’ve heard that it’s not always the best to room with a good friend, since it prevents you from making friends with others and because your friendship can be tested a bit by the close quarters. If she ends up not being able to room with you, maybe it’d be a good thing

I have a question

I don’t have a roommate for the Fall semester. Can I still choose a room and ask UF to get me roommates?

Ex. I want to live in Beaty Towers.

Yes…if it is like the summer sign up…
you will pick Beaty from a drop down
then choose at least 1 opening from a drop down
click on GO
a list of the available room by floor will be displayed that have ONE or more openings
you select one…that is your room

If you want a roommate, you will pick at least TWO from the drop down and it will display all the rooms that have at least two spots available…you will select a room, and then there is a spot to put the roommates 8 digit UF ID. The persons name is displayed so you can see if you put in the correct ID. They will get an email have 24 hours to accept the room.
