I ditto this request!

Most freshman choose to live in the east campus dorms. Broward and Jennings are the most social, most freshman dorms. Broward has an amazing central location, right next to a dining hall, marching band building, 5 minutes walk from most classes. The bad part is broward is very old and not as nice. Jennings is a tad nicer, but does not have as good of a location. Hume is very nice, but for honors college students only. I have friends who live in Beaty towers, apartment style dorms with 2 bedrooms, and a common area/kitchen for 4 people. Nicer, but not as social. There are some nice dorms in Murphee area, but 2 of them do not have air conditioning.

I don’t know much about the other dorms, but I hope i was a help, and Go Gators!

Here is a comparison of the dorms:

PS: thats a great resource for learning about campus… the current UF class uses it

Honestly as a freshmen your dorm options are kind of limited. There are the traditional shared bedroom with the communal bathroom. For this your looking at Rawlings, Jennings, Broward, Murphee, Yulee. All of these are within 8 min of each other and are central to most of your classes. For the most part they are generally the same layout. The other major option is Beaty. This is two bedrooms with 4 people. You get a small common living area/dining/ kitchen and you 4 share a bathroom. It is less social and you probably wont meet many people. But you do get privacy. Also you’ll probably get more room space if you lived in a place like Rawlings cause Beaty is really lacking in free space.
