Hello all! I am applying to these schools listed above, plus some safety schools like UCF & FAU. As you can tell, I’m a Florida resident.

Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Intended Major: Computer or Aerospace Engineering (I know - quite different fields).

GPA: 3.9+(UW), 4.44(W)
Class Percentile: top 10%
SAT: Haven’t taken - am taking it Nov 7.
ACT - 33 (E: 32, M: 32, R: 33, S: 33)
AP’s: Sophomore Year - Biology (4)
Junior Year - AB Calc (5), Statistics (5), Lang (4), Chem (3 - not reporting. Literally the ■■■■■■■■■ teacher I’ve ever had)
Senior Year - BC Calc, Lit, Physics C E&M & M, Comp Sci A
Awards: Top 10% of class 9-11, AP Scholar With Distinction, A Honor Roll 9-11 (Can’t say anything about 12 since I’m a senior).

Extra Curriculars:
-Baseball (9, 10) 10 hrs/week, 23 weeks/yr
-Computer Building for peers + family
-Paid Umpiring - (9,10,11, 12) - 8 hrs week/ 12 weeks yr
-Volunteer Umpire - (Fall season of 9th grade - worked paid after fall) - 8 hrs week, 4 weeks/yr
-NSLC Medical (10) @ GA Tech
-Volunteer at Hospital (11) - 16 hrs/ week, 5 weeks/yr
-Joe Berg Society (10,11,12) - 2hrs/week, 12 weeks/yrFor the top science kids in the city - only about 40 members throughout all of Jacksonville, FL. Only one from my school.
-Shadowing a Dentist - 8 hrs/week, 3 weeks/yr
-Volunteer @ Homeless Shelter - 20 hrs/week, 2 weeks/yr
-Volunteer for Dental Clinic for the poor (10,11)- 4 hrs/week, 5 weeks/year
-Youth Against Cancer Club (9-12)

Assume my essays/personal statements/recommendations are atleast decent.

Also, I’m almost 100% sure I’m going to be accepted to Miami, but I’d like someone to estimate the amount of scholarship money I can get! Thanks!

No thoughts on $$ for UM, but I like you for UF. Good luck!

I think you stand a good chance of getting into both schools. Not sure what you scholarship offer might be for Miami. I know it is very common for good stats kids to get 1/2 Tuition.

I know a graduate from the University of Miami Aerospace Engineering program who had a single job offer after graduating from UM and it was not in his field. You might want to rethink Aerospace Engineering, looking at Mechanical Engineering (much better job prospect than AE) as a viable option to Computer Science.
