<p>hey everyone, im realizing its time to finalize my college list and id love advice on whether or not i stand a chance at the following schools:
UF
UM
NYU
Emory
I attend a public high school in Florida
Female; While I'm considered white, Im really Syrian- American
GPA: 3.5 UW 4.9 W
8 APs by graduation
APs: AP Calc-4
AP Eng Lang.-3
AP Enviro-3
SAT: 670 M 640 CR 590 W
ECs: President of Science Honor Society
Girl Scout of 12 years, received silver award and planning on gold award
Marching Band all 4 years
200+ service hours
I'm also a member of various clubs which I doubt will affect any decisions

<p>i dont want to seem mean but you don't stand a chance at Emory or UM, scores and grades are waaaay low. they are major reaches, try something like a match, u have like kind of low scores for top 25 universities.</p>

UM - Acceptec
NYU- Rejected (out of state)
Emory- Waitlisted, then Accepted (60-70 %)</p>

my friend is heading to Emory, he's stats is way higher than yours with crazy ECs and excellent essay, but got waitlisted and then accepted, so.. you might not stand much of a chance</p>
<p>wait do u realize its a public school, u have to have muuuuch higher scores to get in out of state. btw..the average GPA is a 3.8...U of M way which is take out freshman year and any classes they deem easy, which can include such classes as non honors history, AND 25% of entering class had a 4.0. additionally the schools site indicated last year (no longer does) that the average out of state SAT was a 1390. you're a little below on everything, not that you have no chance just that its not sooo easy.</p>
<p>UF - Excellent chance
NYU - Good chance (people overestimate NYU)
UM - Fair chance
Emory - Slim chance</p>

<p>thanks! yes, i should have specified that by UM i meant University of Miami. Thanks for all the input...it looks like I'm going to apply to all, including Emory..we'll see what happens!</p>

<p>People underestimate nyu. It is a very competitive school.</p>
