Uf or fsu for english

I have been accepted to both and am having a difficult time picking between the two. I absolutely loved both campuses and have researched all that I can. From what I hear fsu is better in the liberal arts department, but typically uf is better overall. I was pretty set on fsu, but that was because I was told that Gainesville was horrid and the uf campus wasn't nice, but now that I've seen it, I can see that they were wrong. I know fsu vs uf is a worn out thread, I'm just looking for some opinions on the english department and life at the campuses.

I am also hoping to study English at one of these campuses. I had my fears about Gainesville because of the same reason, but once I visited I immediately changed my mind.

FACT:
Life at the Gainesville school isn’t horrid and the people there don’t regularly eat wayward children.

OPINION:
Of course, the best and brightest come to Florida State. It’s natural.

Visit them both and see where you fit. By this I mean actually make an appointment with the faculty in the department that interests you. Speak with them, ask real questions - not just attend the university tour, which is just a marketing job. Few buy a car without a test drive, why make a four-year decision based on the infomercial delivered by an undergrad working for the minimum wage?
