UF or UCF?

Hello everyone!
I’m graduating from high school this May and stressed about where to go. I didn’t get into UF through the freshman application but I applied for transfer in the fall since I’ll have my AA from a state college in summer.
Here are my stats
GPA: 3.7
Weighted GPA: 4.4
SAT: 1100 (it’s too low cuz I came to the USA three years ago and not good at English :frowning:
High school rank: 6th (top 2%)
10-12 extra curriculars and two certifications
I’ll have 41 college credits by the time I graduate high school
College GPA: 4.0

UF was my first choice. The only thing that stopping me from committing to UF is that I cannot change my major after I’m admitted. I’m majoring in biochemistry but not sure if I wanna stick to it. On the other hand, UCF is my second choice and I’ll be majoring in Biomedical sciences there. I’ve heard it’s hard to talk to the professors and advisors for their large population. I’ll be a freshman there and can change my major if I want to. I’m also on the pre med track. It’ll be really helpful if anyone can help me with some suggestions and infos on both the universities. Thank you in advance

So are you applying as a junior transfer? If so you likely wouldn’t be able to change your major anywhere, at least without needing to stay an extra semester.

It’s not hard at all to talk to professors. As long as you reach out to them for help they’ll be More than helpful

I have never known anyone attending UCF who isn’t happy with the school. I’m always surprised at how much they really like it. To me it seems huge and it’s in Orlando (which isn’t my favorite city) but they all love it.

I’d go with UCF for the more traditional 4 year college experience. Because you have so many pre-req’s done through your AA, you may be able to double major or get a masters in those same 4 years.
