UF or USC

I have recently been accepted to UF, but USC is my 1st choice but due to finaid reasons should I not risk it and just go to UF, because if I wait until the decision date for USC there might not be housing for me in UF. Any advice also finaid for UF is released on same date for USC decision date. Don't know when USC finaid date is.

Take a deep breath and relax.
Most public schools allow you to apply and put a refundable deposit down on housing prior to sending in your Intent to Register.
Check with the housing office at UF and see what their refund policy is. Some schools only have you put a nominal amount down, like $50.00, while other schools need $500.00, but will refund all or most, depending on when you withdraw. Remember that if the school is low on housing, they won’t have any problems re-assigning your room. Also, considering that USC (USouthern California if that’s who we’re talking about) is known for good aid, you have the opportunity to see what their competing aid offer is. On the whole, schools know that most students need to compare aid packages, and so can be pretty flexible about the housing situation.
