Probably an odd question for here, but worth a shot.
Would anyone know the best times to go to one of the on-campus gyms (UF)? (As in, when are there usually the least amount of people).
I've been here almost 2 years and have never step foot inside, however, I want to start running a bit more regularly and thought I'd hit the gym. However I'm extremely socially awkward and hate running/working out in front of anyone.

Would anyone know a good, calm time to sneak in?

I only go to Southwest. It’s fairly empty from 6AM-3:30 when parking restrictions are lifted and starts to get empty again from 11:00PM-1AM. I doubt anyone will care if you run a little weird or something. Most people are pretty narcissistic, self conscious or otherwise more concerned with themselves/their workout than anyone else in the gym

I love Southwest, and like bobbo07 said I like to go early in the day, when it’s less crowded (I go usually around ten am). However, if you’re self conscious, maybe try the other gym - it’s smaller and less popular and I feel less “looked at” when I’m working out there, you know? I run kinda oddly and I don’t like how at Southwest the treadmills are right in the front so everyone behind you is looking at you haha

I was the 2nd best runner on cross country & track teams at my high school, I am not a coach but my personal opinion is that if you are just getting started you will feel more comfortable running outside than running on a treadmill. It feels so much more natural. Even today I despise treadmills, not because they are bad but because they are so much different than running on the road. Again, just my opinion, but I think once you start running a lot you’ll feel the same way!

I know you said you’re ‘antisocial’ but find someone, anyone to work out with you… it doesn’t matter if you’ve known them for a day or for a year, if you can find a companion who understands where you’re at then you will be so much less stressed out than going by yourself.
