UF resume. (chances?)

<p>What do my chances look like? and any advice on the resume would be appreciated
I'm also retaking the SATs next week</p>

<p>Extracurricular, personal, and volunteer activities; community service:- </p>

<p>Computer: software installation, troubling shooting, packing and inventory, data entry on computer. Also training others on doing the same activities. </p>

<p>Sorting and filing papers: organizing by alphabetical order and labeling</p>

<p>Re-cycling: clean up in parks and streets during evenings and weekends.</p>

<p>In-school activities: Helping during school functions: Arranging furniture and escorting guests.</p>

<p>Sports:
3 years Varsity Cross Country, 3 years Varsity Track and field, and Basketball</p>

<p>Clubs:</p>

<p>Member of Foreign Language Honor Society, Just Say No Club,
Save What's Left (Activity involves picking up recycling articles at parks, schools, streets and beaches). </p>

<p>Talents and awards received:-</p>

<p>Cumulative Weighted GPA: 4.5
Class Rank: Top 7%.

Honor Roll: 3 years.
English 3 Honors Award: 1st place winner</p>

<p>Karate (Brown belt with two black stripes):- Karate America (4 years)-: Won numerous first place and second place awards and trophies at both local and state levels. </p>

<p>Programs that helped me to prepare for college:</p>

<p>I have been attending and participating in religious functions and motivational forums that give guidance and inspiration to youths. I have also tutored and gave guidance to other students in all subject areas, thereby gaining relationship and leadership skills, which are essential for higher education. Practicing Karate has helped me develop skills such as concentration, determination, coordination, alertness and most of all physical strength. </p>

<p>Goal:- My goal is to gain the best education that warrants my educational background. I have been working towards achieving this goal throughout my years at school. After doing much research and considering other universities I believe that the University of Florida will be a great stepping stone that would lead me along this path. </p>

<p>I am a motivated, hard working and determined student. Knowledge is my inspiration. My ultimate goal is to read for a doctoral degree and obtain the best job possible where I can contribute to society and the same time gain personal achievement and experience.</p>

<p>In your “Goal” you should have said University of Florida instead of Florida State University in your app to UF; it would look better.</p>

<p>It’s not necessary to include your stats on your resume since it will already be on your app. For the “Extracurricular, personal, and volunteer activities; community service” section, were the tasks done with any specific organization or for a purpose? From the way it looks now it just looks like random tasks done and would probably read better if it correlated to a group or activity or event.</p>
