Recruitment at UF is competitive, so, yes, recs necessary. No one will ever tell you it is a “requirement.” But get them. Now. Alumnae (not alumni; remember they are all women!) can provide a letter of recommendation no matter where they graduated from. Some – but not all – NPC groups permit current collegians to write recommendations but it varies by sorority. You can check the nation/internaitional website of each group on the UF campus. And, sure, everyone is nervous–but prepare now. Read about the Panhellenic community at UF, follow their Pinterest board and the social media sites of UF group to familiar yourself. Read reliable online sources like Sorority Girl 101 and Greek CHAT (not Greek rank) for solid advice and tips. Register for recruitment, polish your resume to provide to rec writers, pick a photo you love to provide to rec writers and get busy now. Do not wait till July or August to seek recommendations.
