UF Statement of Intent

Hello

I’m transferring to the UF ( University of Florida ) forestry program for the Summer B 2017 term. The transfer application requires two statements of intent. The issue is the application says they should be 200 words each, but they only allow 1000 characters within the each textbox. So, understandably, I hit the character count way before I hit the word count…I am at 157 and 168 words respectively. It seems weird that they would limit students vocabulary to an average of 5-letter words to achieve this limit. What is the deal with this? Do you need to be at or over 200 words?

Forget about the “200 word” approximation. It’s meaningless. Just work with the 1,000 character limit.

If you feel you must work with a word limit, use 150 words…approximately.
