Hello aspiring gators!! I have decided to create this thread to see and share my anxiety with other transfer students awaiting a decision. Post you GPA, major, and anything else worth noting.

GPA (overall): 3.85
Florida CC
Chemistry major

status - awaiting initial review of application.

HEY!! So when did you apply? I applied last week and sent everything already, status says Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Fall 2014 term has been received. Please allow 2-4 weeks for an initial review of your application by the Admissions Office. How long did they took to take yours to that final step? Please advise.

International Affairs / Political Science Major
GPA: 3.5
Miami Dade College-AA

I applied a little over two weeks ago. Sent my transcripts in the day after, but status hasn’t changed. I’m anxious but since they did say 2-4 weeks I guess i’ll give them the 4 weeks before calling to check on my application. By that time my fall grades should be in (mid december).

gatorchemist I know what you mean I have been going crazy I check my status at least four times a day. I am going to go crazy before the deadline if I have to wait that long.

ok my application was updated to
Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Fall 2014 term has been received and is being evaluated. Once your grade point average is calculated and your eligibility is confirmed, your application will be sent to your college for a final decision.

It’s probable that they are waiting on fall grades, after all those are the last grades they will be seeing before making a conditional decision (based on spring grades which they won’t see for a while). If your GPA is being calculated, then that’s probably a good sign. As far as it being sent to the college for a final decision, don’t really expect any status change until mid January at the earliest.

I dont know another person with my major and similar gpa got in a week ago. A conditonal acceptance would be fine because I don’t see myself failing any classes my last semester. I wasn’t expecting my status to change until they got my fall grades so I surpised.:D

I just checked this morning and what do you know…here’s what I found.

Congratulations!!! Your application to the University of Florida for the Summer A 2014 term has been approved!

Official notification will arrive by mail, including the conditions of your admission as well as important orientation and immunization information.

We look forward to seeing you on campus soon, and welcome you to the Gator Nation!
