I thought u wanted to go to uf??? Whats the second choice?

I do. But I also got into UNF, they have a good program too. And I’m from Jacksonville and won’t have to relocate.

It wouldn’t take me 2 seconds to make that decision lol…I live in Middleburg and am commuting to Gainesville every day when I start in January. Of course, UNF doesn’t have my program, but still. Congrats!

Oh, and Florida1on1…you’re going to make yourself crazy if you keeping checking so constantly! Here’s a tip…check once a day. They only update them once a day and I believe it’s around 8 oclock in the evening. It will save your sanity…and don’t be surprised if you don’t find out for a couple of months. When I applied for fall I applied in January and didn’t get an answer until June. This term I applied in early August and didn’t get an answer til early November. Others waited longer than that and some found out much earlier than I did.

Yeah I agree, I checked a few times a week. Turned in my app and all required documents in September and just got my decision now. I really hated the waiting game, when it only took UNF 3 days to admit me haha. UF obviously has a lot more applicants to go through.

I don’t expect a decision until Feb, but it still fun to check. If I don’t get in I got a back up school I am just as in love with.

hi guys I am a FTIC at USF St Pete and hope to transfer to UF in Fall/summer 2014 but it looks like UF is not accepting freshman/sophomore transfer applicants? do you guys know if this is true? I have heard it both ways that they will for Fall 2014? any info or advice is much appreciated thanks!!

You need 60 college credits to transfer into UF. Below is the link, straight from the horses mouth.

[University of Florida - Admissions](Transfer - How to Apply - University of Florida)

AHHH, guys! I applied November 8 for Fall 2014, send everything in that week, on November 22 status said “once your gpa is calculated blah bla blah it will be referred to your college…” TODAY the 26 just changed to “Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Fall 2014 term has been referred to your college for a final decision” so I think that was EXTREMELY quick!! So I’m pretty excited! How about you @gatorchemist ? GO GATORS!

Wow that’s great news Poliscigator!! I applied October 27th I believe and my status still says “wait 2-4 weeks for initial review.” Your app was processed rather quickly. Are you currently taking classes and will be taking more in the spring? Did you ever call the office of admissions regarding your application status? I think i’m going to do that this Monday coming up, although I would’ve just preferred for the semester grades to be posted in a couple of weeks. Your chances are looking good :-)

I know! Fingers crossed. Yeah I’m taking classes now and will get my A.A. at the end of this term. I won’t be taking any classes in Spring, I’ll spend my time in an internship. And I haven’t called inquiring about my app. So I see you’re transferring from a CC here in Fla, to an extent we receive priority consideration (if transferring from public CC in Fla WITH an A.A.) and you applied before me and still you are in the first step, I think you should def call them. I’ll keep you posted :)

Ahhh, well that makes sense now. I probably won’t receive an answer until my fall grades come in since I am taking spring classes. Conditional acceptances are a lot easier to give when waiting on one semester’s grades rather than two. Regardless, the semester is almost over and i’ll probably give them a call this week.

Does anyone know if the 60 credits required include dual enrollment and ap credits? I have about 56 from DE and AP. A total of 69 including the courses I’m taking now.

Yes, AP/IB/dual enrollment can go to the requirement.

Hi guys,

I had just submitted my undergraduate transfer application on Jan. 6th. I am applying into the architecture program for the summer term. Prior to applying to UF, I exchanged emails with the assistant director of the school of architecture and showed him my unofficial transcripts. He told me everything was good but I needed foreign language credits in order to start my summer studio sequence. I had completed two sequential foreign language courses during high school but my director told me that the courses had to be of AP, IB or DE credit in order for them to count towards admissions. The foreign language courses I took during high school were only honors level courses. But then I spoke to an admissions officer and he told me that as long as I took foreign language courses during high school and turned in my official high school transcript for proof, I would be eligible to apply. So I went ahead and applied to UF. Did this happen to anyone else also? Are transfer students required to take foreign language courses that count towards college credit only before applying to UF or can it be just regular courses taken during high school? I am currently taking Spanish I here at USF, not sure if that helps with the admissions process. Either way, if what my assistant director said was true, then I might be ineligible to get into UF if my application is sent to the college for a final decision.

I apologize for the long rant. Just needed some feedback.

Gatorchemist, I applied for Fall 2014 in September and my major is chemistry and I just got accepted yesterday without them having my Fall grades yet. My conditions are just that I finish Calc 2 with a B (which I did in fall, my transcripts are just taking forever to process) and to have my AA before enrollment. You should probably be getting your answer sooner rather than later (if you haven’t already) since you’re a summer transfer.

Hello CollagenDavoli and others,

As of yesterday I have been accepted into UF Chemistry, Summer 2014!!! It was very exciting news but hasn’t quite hit me yet. My conditions were to finish Calc2 with a B and earn my AA. Hang tight guys, responses are rolling out soon especially for those applying to summer term :)

Good luck to all UF Summer 2014 Transfer applicants.

Is it a good thing to transfer in at summer term? I gather that transfer students with an AA are exempt from the summer term requirement.

Hi!
I applied to transfer for Summer the first week of October and they had everything within two weeks. I’m applied to the PoliSci program and have a 3.6 GPA with 3 out of the 4 suggested classes taken( my school doesn’t offer the 4th class) and will have my AA at the end of this semester . Last week my application was sent to my college for final decision and I still waiting for a answer, does anyone know around how long it takes for a response after it’s gotten to your specific college?

@nimassain

The Foreign language proficiency is a requirement of the Office of Admissions and not a college/major requirement. The admission officer is the one checking that requirement, so he/she is likely correct. You should be fine :)
