Asmaj who r u because you seem to know alot about.... well everything? every question someone asks you always have a really good informative answer to it.

This question is for Asmaj:

Is that really true that med schools do not care which level of a course ( ex: a higher level Bio that the required or a higher level math that the required) and that GPA is all that really matters (along with research and clinical experience)? And if that is true can you list the the course names and number of the required classes that you recommend taking in order to be competitive and have a good chance of being accpeted to a good med school?

Yes, they only care about the grades (GPA) from those classes, no the level at which you took them. The only exception is that they like you to take the next level of a class if you decide to use AP scores. For example, if you get a 5 on the AP Bio exam, then you have the option to skip BSC2010 and 2011 plus lab, to prove that you can do college level biology then you should take PCB3063 (Genetics) or Eukaryotic Cell Structure (PCB3134).

*adcoms also care about your EC's and LOR's (5)(2 science prof, 1 non-science, peer, and research)-and some variations of that)

PHY2053 and 2054 with lab (Physics)
BSC2010 and 2011 with lab (Biology)
CHM2045 and 2046 with lab (General Chemistry)
CHM2210 and 2211 with lab (CHM2211L) (Organic Chemistry)
BCH4024 (Biochemistry)

MAC2311 (Calc 1), MAC2312 (Calc 2), or STA2023 (Stats)
ENC1101, ENC1102, or ENC2210 (Some english classes)

The order I took it was:
- gen chem and calc 1
- gen chem 2, bio 1, calc 2, stats
- bio 2, orgo 1, physic 1
- physics 2, orgo 2, tech writing
- biochemistry

thanks Asmaj... by the way how is UF's med school?

In the same semester? Very few premeds do that. :)

Asmaj when you took
Quote:
- gen chem 2, bio 1, calc 2, stats
- bio 2, orgo 1, physic 1
- physics 2, orgo 2, tech writing

how many classes in total were you taking at once each of those semesters?

for summer B i plan on taking tech writing; as a premed what other course would you recommend taking during summer B (aside from organic chem 2).

I usually try to have one hard semester mixed in with one easier semester.

I have never taken below 15 credits a semester, except for this one b/c I am studying for the mcat. That can range from 4-5 class because labs are usually 1 credit (and sometimes more work than the class), language classes are 5 credits, and the usually lecture class is 3 credits.

If you are not good at chem, you can take CHM1025. I took AP chem, so I went to CHM2045. You can also take STA2023 or you can get some of you gen eds out the way.

I would not recommend doing it this way. I was very busy semester. Just take one of the you junior year instead.

O no i was just saying i didnt wanna take organic chem 2 in the summer because i havent take organic chem 1 yet or even inorganic chem. I did pretty well in honors chem at my school so could i take chem 2045 or would i be placed in a lower clas no matter what because i didnt take AP chem?

How big is the AP bio (campbell) cliff notes book?
